For the press riding launch of the new Trident 800, we jetted off to Cyprus, for around 100 miles of mixed mountain roads and equally eclectic weather conditions.

Damn...I was set on getting the xsr900 as my "forever" bike and then Triumph comes up with this. Btw it's nice to see the weather did not get you down. Most of the other reviews seemed a bit unenthusiastic because of it. Almost made one feel like the bike wasn't all that good.

Wanted the Trident 800 but the insurance rates were 2.5x more than the 660. Got the 660. Both amazing machines for the $$.

I just got the jet black 800 Friday. Coming from a ST 765. Incredible bike all a round. Very torquey; handles great. Sounds good stock too. Definitely not beginner friendly

Very good review. Saw one outside a shop the other day, looks really good. Noice finish! Makes me want to test ride. BTW, you should always sledge the mid range Triumph dashes till they fix them. Send a message. Sod the Hornet. The SP (only) has finally arrived here and it costs 30% more. The Trident is way better for the money. Nice review..

this Trident 800 to me is a perfect mix of performance and daily commuting usability.
really consider it to replace my Husqvarna 801

I’ve just won a trident 660. I used to have an 2022 xsr900 so it does feel muted in comparison.
I would much prefer the 800 trident as it would just have that bit more grunt that you need sometimes, but for a prize won bike it’s a blessing to have and I’ll keep it for a while.
I just don’t like the look from the rear of the 660 or 800 as with the number plate hanger and smooth rear it looks like a scooter

The price gap between the Trident 660 and 800 is about 14%. The gab between the Tiger 660 Sport and the 800 Sport is about 38%. Do you have any idea why there is such a big difference?

Had a 660 to get back into riding and it was absolutely superb. Only negative was a bit of buzz on the grips. So easy to ride and gives you extreme confidence at that power level. This 800 sounds great. Could never buy a street triple because of those weird headlights.

do you think the Triumph fans were calling out for a bigger engined but basically same but different Bike
like when Honda put the MSX125 out there it was a super cute bike that got me more attention than my Big bikes did But if only it packed more Punch.
I wish Triumph would concentrate on New styles and design of bike and leave the rehash models to the smaller companies in China

My 2015 Street Triple 675 with 4K miles is a really great bike to ride (100+ BHP and just over 180 kilos) and was substantially cheaper than this. Have bikes really improved that much to warrant an expensive change or are we just being sucked into unnecessary purchases?

The gold rims are nice, but apart from that, the entire aesthetic of the 1991 Trident has been degraded, both in terms of the overall design and the details (the tank, the headlight, the dashboard, the rear, etc.).
