I "promised" myself I wouldn't buy a single thing on the All Michigan Shop Hop... but if you believe that, I've got a bridge to sell you! 😂

Instead of just buying random things, I challenged myself to find one unique, problem-solving notion at every single quilt shop my sister and I visited. From clever thimble alternatives and genius sewing machine seam guides, to specialized templates for bag making and Singer Featherweight essentials—I found some absolute gems that are going to save so much time in the sewing room.

Grab a cup of tea, settle in, and let's dive into this massive quilting and sewing notions haul!

Which of these notions was your favorite? Or is there a must-have tool in your sewing room that I completely missed? Let me know in the comments below! 👇

Those small measuring tapes, I keep in my purse, one never knows when a fabric store can appear….

I love the corner template. That’s a brilliant idea.
Cross stitch floss- I buy cheap sandwich or snack bags and write the floss number on the front. I like this method because I can put floss I don’t use back in the bag .. and it’s cheap

Yesteryear tip: dr. Scholl’s moleskin was recommended to cut into a 1/4” strip x 6”( length of pad) as a seam guide, presents enough of a soft raised edge to guide your fabric thru your machine. It lasted on the machine for years. Faithful for miles and miles.

i never even thought of the frog tape.

You can use the dots WITH the crinkly tape for a well performing thimble.

Those dots look so handy. Thimbles don’t work for my misshapen fingers. I may even take up hand sewing again with something as handy as those

Loved this video. I saw so many new things.

I feel like the seam ripper with the bell on the small ring is actually a wine glass marker lol... Too cute!

I absolutely love the featherweight thread spool guide. It was a game changer for me and sewing is so much easier with the larger spools. Thanks for showing us your purchases.

Coban is the sticky fabric-like stuff used by medical folks. Never thought about using it as shown! Thanks for the review of your haul, Becca!

Thimble dots for handsewing! Definitely been a game changer for me. Love seeing what you like. Thank you 😊

Amodex is simply the BEST! A couple of years ago I got Sharpie on a favorite blouse. Tried all the usual stain removers but nothing worked. So, I googled "Sharpie remover" and this was the first thing to pop up. Bought a bottle that day...at Lowe's....in the grocery aisle. IT WORKED! The only stain I've not been able to remove is pine sap on my husband's shirt, but it had been on there for a couple of years. I LOVE this stuff! UPDATE: MY HUSBAND SAID IT DID NOT REMOVE SWEAT FROM HIS TILLEY HAT THAT HE WEARS ON PHOTOGRAPHY TRIPS.

my favorite ruler is the Creative Grids 2.5 x 6.5. I have on by my machine and a 2nd one on my hand quilting frame. I love how the shops can put their name on the ruler and it is just a reminder of wherever I was when I picked it up.

Love the Poke-a-dots! Use them all the time for hand binding. And they're reusable.

I think it would be interesting to see how many things you can use the Finger Thing for. Linda’s Country Quilts and the Holly Quilt Shop are my 2 main local quilt shops. It would have been fun to run into you while we were out shopping hopping. :shelterin:

The thimble tape - I forget the name - is awesome but needles will poke through after a good bit of use.
I switch between that and the different thimble dots Colonial Needle makes!
Great stuff to check out.
Thanks!
