As the real life Mushashi says in his book. In terms of the body, mind, and soul never rush or be hurried. Dont lose sight of your true self or try to outspeed your understanding youll only end up falling, getting hurt, or dead. In that same vain never stop moving, because the only things not moving on the battlefield are corpses, the dead have already lost. The dead can no longer grow or improve.

Search for the Centerpoint, that pleasant vibration of the mind, body, and soul thats always moving at the exact pace required for victory. This isn't to say that you'll never need to move fast or play dead, but never lose your own personal pace. That is where true improvement is found.

Its not an exact quote, but thats the lesson I personally gained

Baki actually has a lot of deep themes and messages if you look deep enough it’s not just brainless fighting it is the true embodiment of the will of people who try to become stronger

It really is the difference between Goku and Vegeta and why Goku always has the edge over him. Goku treats it all like a game, even when his life is on the line.
Vegeta does everything because of pride. He has to for the sake of being the best

I suppose that quote also works for Musashi, because he enjoys cutting.

There's a lot of truth to this. I suck at BJJ, I have zero natural talent for it. But I find it fun. Now I'm 15 years into training and a black belt. I've lost count of how many hardworking, competitive, talented dudes have fallen off the map because they went "all out" and burned themselves out in the first five years.

This is also explained in the Soccer Anime BlueLock. Before the cast starts training to face the U20 team, the head trainer of BlueLock Ego explains that in order to enter a “Flow” & achieve maximum physical performance, a player needs to have a mindset in which they’re having fun while overcoming a challenge, if there’s no challenge at all they just get bored & lose interest, but if there’s too much of a challenge they get anxiety & begin to get overwhelmed. Basically the flow is a state of supreme focus where a person is able to bring out the maximum potential of their abilities & overcome challenges through an equal measure of confidence & excitement.

9:14 Game Development. I tried not sleeping for days to accomplish something because I thought I’d get faster results through suffering. Not realizing your brain functions more optimally when well rested.
BakiTense!

I’ve been wanting to get started on my PhD.  My potential PhD supervisor has knocked me back twice because if I want funding, he thinks I need to refer to specific books.  I’ve been putting off reading because I also want to maintain my YouTube and TikTok channel and I autopilot into editing when I’m meant to be reading.  But I’m also taking flying lessons so I want to read that textbook and continue my lessons for that.  But I’m also meant to be working towards getting a real full-time job since I’m still doing entry-level jobs years later.  But I also want to stay fit which wipes me out the entire day.  But I also want to play videogames which I can only do at night (same goes for editing) because I spend half the day sleeping and the other half with my parents.  Speaking of parents, they’re trying to get me married off but I don’t feel like I’m even close to being a good husband yet because I can’t cook and other things husbands should be able to do.

I’m sure there’s a schedule that can balance all of this out, but my schedules rarely survive contact with reality.

I was putting too much into strength training... And now that I started taking things slower, I'm just more relaxed, and healthier in general.

What’s going on Jax? I haven’t been this early in a long time. After watching: That was a great message Jax. A lot of us are so excited about the end results. We get that dopamine boost just from the excitement of the end results in our heads that we forget about actually enjoying the process. (BakiTense)

In the anime kingdom the Boshin is this tank of a guy who just defeats all the strongest until they get him to into his own head about being strong. He starts thinking about it to much instead of just doing what he did before and just be.

Love your Baki videos man. You should definetly do a Vinland Saga video. Like a workout and a phylisofical video.

I have a real life example of this. There's this hill near me I like to hike, gets kinda steep in places so there's always a challenge, and it's a popular enough place that there's always people making the attempt. My competitive side can get in the way there, trying to pass the next person and eventually gassing out before I reach the top.
Last time I went up, I tried something different. Brought my earbuds and listened to a soundtrack with a pretty consistent rhythm while trying to match my steps to the beat. Had a lot of fun with it, and I reached the top. Honestly the best hike I've had, and it's because I let go of that competitive stress

The pedestal problem is basically one of our default mode network called the scarcity brain, which is also a book about how this evolutionary heuristic can be easily manipulated to become addicted by just three environmental triggers: opportunity, velocity, and just the possibility of rewards. And this is why we've to train our mind to become better at system 2 thinking, according to another book called "Thinking: Fast and Slow".

Temperance is a Heavenly Virtue for a reason.

Lowkey this speaks to me a lot because I’ve been stretching myself thick and this to get bigger for a while whilst keeping up with schoolwork and other parts of my life full of cardio and I’ve yet to gain much size I have gotten stronger after letting myself go a little

I am an active fighter in the UFC and I will say, you are 100% spot on about achievement, pedestals and happiness. I'm having to relearn how to have fun.

3d printing, sketching, I always was hard on myself to practice sketching and practice my drawing that I forgot to have fun while practicing or whije drawing, or didn't find ways to enjoys while practicing or practicing the lazy exercises, I would have done things differently. BakiTense.
