After 100s of days of travel, I can confidently say that, for me, no other bag comes close to the versatility, ease of packing and long-lasting assurance as the Osprey Daylite 26+6. This video is not sponsored. I just really like the bag!

The Almond Oak is also great for its price

I swear by osprey, had a big pack for like 15 years out many miles and nights in it. A main strap finally gave out. Used the warranty and they sent me a gorgeous brand new one same model. I saw they had reengineered that strap area 😀😀😀

I've had the osprey 26+6 for like 5-6 years now. People call me crazy when I tell them I will travel for 3 weeks with it. Obviously I need to wash clothes 1-2 times but man can it carry a lot more things than you think. I know this bag will last me 2- years or more.

This is my one bag for everything. Work, travel, gym, whatever. You name it. It's replaced absolutely everything because it is so very very perfect. Great video!

I had the exact bag but my wife stole it. So I got another in black. And yea, I agree 100%. I like to travel with that and a roller luggage. The back of the Osprey slides into the roller handle and it’s just perfect 👌

Never has one person worked so hard, to say so little, in so much time.

The osprey guaranty is amazing! I had a backpack for about 10 years and the waterproofing on the lid started flaking. I sent them pictures then mailed them the backpack and they gave me a voucher to get the new version of that same backpack or similar priced one plus free shipping. 😮

I'd think that a pack-out video might be useful. I've got one of these on order right now!

I just bought one a few months ago so I can confirm that the 2026 version of the bag only has 2 pen slots. My biggest complaint was about all of the loose straps so I made some custom strapkeepers out of paracord.

Nicely paced comparison with thoughtful reasoning for each bag's pros and cons. Helpful!

If you wanted to get rid of one of those pen slots to make a bigger pocket, you could just get a seam ripper and remove the stitiching. I've done that and some of my bags (from other companies).

I’ve used the same osprey for almost 13 years. Used to travel internationally multiple times a year and lived out of said bag for months on end. Never failed me. Part of it broke last year but they replaced the part for free. Color doesn’t match but I don’t care. Crazy good quality.

Agreed. This is my preferred option for personal item one-bag travel as well. I usually store my laptop in a Matador Base Layer case anyway, so the laptop compartment design on the 26+6 is perfect for easily sliding it out at TSA/security checkpoints abroad. The compression zipper makes it incredibly easy to pack quickly when leaving, and the aesthetic is neutral enough for pretty much any situation. It actually edges out my ULA Dragonfly 30L Ultra as my all-around GOAT selection. I even use it as my EDC transit bag since it's such a great pick for trains and buses. Getting it for around $75 USD on Black Friday was the ultimate bonus.

I have had the same bag since 2004.

The way this bag opens is a game changer for me plus tons of room I love it and use it every time leaving my dozen other carry ones at home every single time also very lightweight to carry

@stephenlewis2084 3 months ago

I have this and it replaced my Cabin Zero that I previously loved. I’m retired so have time for trips of up to 6 weeks at a time. I don’t carry a laptop so not wanting the sleeves that many bags include. I usually fly with airlines that have a generous carry on limit so I also take a cross body sling. Booking apartments with a washing machine means this is enough for any length trip. So many times flights are full and bags are taken away to go in the hold. So far they’ve never picked on me. They target bags with wheels.

I've got a couple of Osprey bags, but I had no idea about their warranty, and to be honest if I'd damaged either of my bags beyond any practical use then they would have been in landfill. Thank you for the video and the heads-up.

The new Osprey Transporter 26+6 seems to hit more sweet spots with me. Dedicated laptop sleeve, larger water bottle pocket. Full length front pocket. Loops for attaching a strap for messenger bag style carry.

@MariusClausen-bf2kw 3 months ago

I think the Transporter 26+6 is better but the price is much higher. On Ospreys home page, the Traveler 26+6 in blue is for sale at 82$ but they only ship to USA(this was on june 11) I tried to by one but they dont ship to Europe. I am a globetrotter that travel around 150 days a year, My dream settup is Osprey 26+6 and Cotopaxi allpa42. I dont like to stuff but have my backpacks a little bit loose and flimsy, so it is easyer to squees them into the overhead compartement.

Thanks for this review. I've recently bought this bag so this is just reassurance on my choice. Good to know that detail about packing out the cabin zero. I can't remember why I didn't go for it at the time (I think water resistance?) but knowing that without packing cubes it'll just be a lumpy mess helps.
I use laundry delicates bags instead of packing cubes. Ensures I have delicates bags when I do laundry on the road (bcos I usually travel for at least a month at a time) but doesn't provide much compression or shape (though I do firmly stuff them)
