Gotta love a simple fix. Well done on the VFD diagnosis….not sure what they were thinking with that mirror display, you could replace with some perspex maybe. It’s a nice receiver. Good job!

Ah, I have that Harmony remote, got it so I could use the Pioneer GGV service remote signals to fix my Laserdisc players (the remote signals worked, messed up one of the players but fixed the other). I also thought the Harmony servers had been shut down, so glad they still work for now

I also use a harmony remote to get the codes for various devices. I then usually buy some cheap one-for-all remote and use the learn mode with the harmony. Now I have a dedicated remote for that device. This way you can even add some mixed devices to one remote. Like set play pause etc for a cd and volume for the amp.

Nice repair and vid! Thank you.

Nice one! Proper variety of old tech!

I see that tons of older audio electronics sites in Japan! There's a few reputable stores and apparently buyers come from Thailand and Indonesia where they have second hand stores and even them have discount days! I see another guy here on YouTube who shows the deals!

deoxit is so expensive in canada too! usa cornering the market

Very informative video, the work on the display helped me sort out a display on a Kenwood cd that wasn’t working at all, thanks

Wow I am happy to find your channel, you have such straightforward and clever methods in fault finding and fixing!!
The only thing I found strange that you used an electric screwdriver like a regular one :D Perhaps an inside joke? :)

Super film i dobra naprawa  , a dragą dedukcji to jednak kondensatory mają winę i są najsłabszym elementem dziękuję za filmik TheRetroChannel.

I bought one of these when they came out. It was £250 new which was great value at the time. I ended up returning it though, because there was a problem with its DTS decoder: it would randomly play extremely loud static through the speakers after selecting DTS on a DVD.

Great find and fixed it up like a champ sounds great cand believe people throw this things out.

Found an Azur 351A and remote for 190 U.S dollars. Really nice internal layout and easy to work on. Maybe 2010 and no Phono. Was going to match the CD but really must be excellent prices are expensive here U.S Ebay etc. Thanks for the Video especially Cambridge!

Bought one for 60 euro this week top amp... Better as nad my 4th cambridge and had 7 nads

Nice work very interesting

I'm watching this while recovering from the manflu myself. It's the hottest day of the current heatwave and I'm feeling cold and shivery.

Wonderful ‘bodge’ fix — nothing takes the fun out of a quick and simple fix like spending an hour stripping something down and putting it back together again when there’s an easier way.  The point-to-point soldering simplicity of last century’s wireless devices had a lot going for it!

Think I may still have a 540Rv2 in the loft. The remote was quite nice having a  hefty metal body.

Nice job!
Dealing myself with a flea market found amp, that has some display issues and a blown power transistor on the left output. The transistors are already ordered and received, now I need only the motivation to open up the amp and get to soldering...
Thanks a lot for the motivating video!
👍👍👍

Not sure if it was just the camera view, but C107 did look slightly bulged on top to me. It would have been nice if Cambridge Audio provided a removeable bottom access panel.
