I had cancer in my cervix when I was 24 and because I didn't have children they only cut out a big chunk of my cervix. After surgery they told me, I will have the risk of developing new cancer throughout my whole life because I had 13 different types of HPV (no clue how I got it) two of them were the two most popular high risk ones (in Germany called 16 and 18). My doctor said it's not possible that my Body would fight all of these different types and I'll have to deal with it. Today 6 years later, I have a new docomtor and the recent results showed, that there is no HPV found anymore and my cervix grew back like it was before. Good luck to everybody <3

Thank God you had the hysterectomy at all. I had cervical cancer January, 4 years ago, B1 also, WAS NOT offered a hysterectomy,  they said it wasn't needed. My cancer was a size of a tennis ball.  I had chemo, radiation and braki therapy. They said it went into remission.  All was looking good. Had my 3mth checks for 2 years, was put on the pill for hormones, then moved to ever 6mths. March 2021, oncologist changed my pill to HRT. Then 2021 I thought I had a typical UTI but 1 day I went to pee and the toilet bowl was filled with blood. This happened 1 time and never again. This though was not a UTI, no antibiotics worked to relieve the excruciating pain. I went back to the cancer centre and both my oncologists saw me, internally checked and found nothing, did a ct scan and found nothing, the pain continued for 6mths, slowly going away in November and December.  June, people kept commenting how slim I looked but didn't think anything. July 2022, I had a sudden swelling in my calf muscle. I thought I just injured it somehow.  Ignored it and a week later I was hospitalised with pulmonary embolisms (blood clots) all over both lungs along with Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT).The pain in one lung was excruciating! Me being on long term medicine that blocks normal hospital pain killers from working, was a big problem.  I spent 24hrs not being able to breath more than a tiny breathe. Each tiny breathe caused a massive stabbing pain. Stayed in hospital for 2wks, away from my 6yr old daughter. Blood test showed a high reading for tumor markers, they thought it could possibly be colon cancer. This hospitalisation made me realise I lost 5kg in 1 month since my monthly doctor visit. Once released I had to get all these scans and tests to be able to do a colonoscopy/Endoscopy on October 31st. Also put on blood thinning tablets.  3wks after leaving hospital in September,  I started feeling a dull aching in my other lower leg area. Went to emergency,  they found another DVT and an extra blood clot in left lung. Remember,  each time you get pulmonary embolisms,  it puts great strain on both your lungs and heart, damaging them both a little more each time. Stayed in hospital over a week. I had now lost 8kg.  Now Put on blood thinning injections 2 times daily. Finally did colonoscopy/Endoscopy and they found nothing at all. Mind you, after my first Pulmonary Embolism,  my GP, that I've known for years, knew straight away I had some sort of cancer causing these blood clots.  December again hospitalised with pulmonary embolisms. 3wk hospital stay. Now I had lost 8kg. This time they found a small amount of ascites (fluid in lower abdomin). They were quite certain the blood thinners weren't working because a cancer was causing them. Had fluid drained (which was quite uncomfortable) and tested. 3 wks ago they told me they found cancer cells similar to the cells that are in cervical cancer in the ascites and that my ovaries were filled with tumors. I went to my GP for my usual monthly prescription visit and gave him the hospital papers and told him what they said. He informed me that now its spread, chemotherapy will give me a bit more time but I will be very sick from the treatment.  I was confused about what he just said. I assumed I would have to have treatment,  cancer will go into remission and probably come back again, repeat and repeat. No, he said it was much more serious and more advanced. With the ascites, he believes its spread into my abdomen. Because of my extreme weight loss,  he thinks it might be too late to fix it. Had a break down for a whole day and sucked it up.
Saw oncologist a couple weeks ago, wasn't certain what cancer it is or stage until they remove or biopsy my ovaries but they can't put me under anaesthesia until blood clots go. Says it's unlikely to be cervical and would rather it be a whole new cancer. She said if it were cervical cancer, it'd be stage 4. She said it's very unlikely to be cervical as it doesn't usually react like this.
Did another ct scan now the ascites was drained.
Last week saw a new oncologist. With the test results and scans, she's certain it's cervical cancer. There is a big tumor showing on scans. How could they not see it in the last year with all the scans I've had.  She wouldn't stage it or corroborate what the other oncologist said about it being stage 4. I'm starting 3rounds of the strongest chemo in 3wks. Because I had past radiation in the past, I can't use it again. Also, she thinks they won't remove the ovaries unless they can remove all cancer,  which is unlikely because the radiation turns the uterus and everything rock hard and is very hard to operate on. Not the best news but this is the journey I'm going through right now. Being very strong  for my daughter, partner and family. Trying to prepare my partner for a possibility of life without me and everything being ok. Anyways, sorry for such a long post but wanted you to be grateful for your hysterectomy and possibly saving you from bad news a few years from now. Congratulations on being in remission and pray you stay cured for the rest of your life.

The thing that makes cervical cancer different than other cancers is that it doesn’t matter how old you are or if you have a family history or not. Most cervical cancer is caused by HPV. I don’t know about other countries but in the US About 80% of women and 90% of men will contract it at some point in their lives. Many won’t know it either because there is no test for men so many don’t know they have it unless they get genital warts or something. Women also will clear HPV before their next Pap smear so they never know about it. HPV is technically an STD/STI however that’s not the only way to get it. Also in rare cases you can get cervical cancer without HPV. With that said because younger people tend to be more actively intimate than older folks people in the 20s 30s and 40s are at higher risk. I see different numbers but based on many studies many point to 30-35 years old being the highest. It is very important for everyone to check themselves. My mom passed from cervical cancer. She was diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer at age 35 and she put up a fight but lost her battle at 41 years old. I am 32 and my Pap smear came back abnormal. I never had an abnormal Pap smear until now. I can’t prove it but I have a feeling I had HPV in my 20s and it maintained dormant there is a lot of things that make be believe that. My doctor said I have high chances of clearing the infection for now it is a waiting game. None of my family has ever died or even had cancer. my mom is the only one. Please please please anyone reading this please get checked we are all at risk even though many of us will get it and clear it get checked because every 2 minutes there is a women getting diagnosed with cervical cancer. Also your chances are higher of surviving it compared to other cancers when caught early. For example stage 1 has a 95% survival rate for 5 years or more which increases your chance of it not coming back. Get checked so you are able to give yourself the best fighting chance.

You are An insanely Strong woman, wow!  I’m so sorry this all happened to you.  Had some tears watching this.  Glad you are cancer free now my friend!

Meagan - thank you. You might' ve been a bit ramble-y but you're real, and that's important. One thing I'd like to tell you is you are allowed to be emotional. A 32 year old woman with 3 children at home? Of course you'd be scared, of course you'd cry sometimes - we all cry sometimes.

One more word on the surgery. You might have been cancer-free going into surgery BUT your uterus and fallopian tubes are the HOME of cancer; it starts in the cervix but the cells happily move up into the warm moist place that is the womb and there they start multiplying, so you did a good thing when you had them taken out. Thank the Universe you already had your kids. Thank your uterus and cervix for doing their job and let 'em go.

For those with cervical cancer, have your home checked for mold.  Certain molds are known to cause cervical cancer.  See a root cause specialist.  My home and body is full of 4 cancer causing molds.  We wouldn’t have known about it unless I started seeing a root cause specialist.

I,m so sorry for you.I don't speak english well,but I think that your story is useful for all women .Even for me,because Iwas diagnosted with cervical cancer stage 1,I did a conisation and refused histerectomy .I hope I had my best decision .

I go for my next Pap in the new year 2024..I HATE them..I was raped at 19(I will be 36 in September 2024)..I need serious anxiety meds in order to be able to get through Paps from now on..

I am Canadian and lost both my parents to cancer.  My mom's was ovarian. Hete i have been doung paps and coposvopies sinse i wad 21. I had lazer surgery. The mistakes in the Canadian med system, no one would  believe. And you did a great job at explaining. It was not a waste with the partial hysterectomy , but it would have been had they taken the ovaries. The gardisil vax only usually  protects against 9 of the 99 HPV out there. So it is a risk ratio.There have been serious issues with that vax. Abstinence, condoms and monogamy from the start of sexual life. I am so glad that you made it through this and can tell others so much great info.

Thank u for posting this video  pray it helps many. Back in 2002 got remarried and had 2 young children 10 and 12 7months later I found out I had cervical cancer I was a mess when they pulled me into the room and they told me I had cervical cancer and went over my plan for treatment.
What brought me in the ER was I passed a blood clot size of a grapefruit although I was passing blood clots and was bleeding bad we didn't have any insurance and I just started a job I loved, I knew major medical issues is not how u want to start a marriage but the pain was so bad I ended up in ER
I remember going to a university hospital to get my diagnosis 2 hrs away by the time I got home my clothes were soaked in blood so then went to my local ER  and it was because of all the poking and prodding they prescribed me medicine and sent me home.
Started my treatment of chemo and radiation. I had major side effects of chemo and tolerated the radiation just fine til the last treatment it burt my colon so bad I ended up with radiation colitis, I have lost almost all of my bottom teeth with no money to make it right.
During my 4month stay in the hospital only getting to come on Fridays and going back on Mondays because I was apart of a research team. My husband cheated on me, my son couldn't stand seeing me sick and I had a Pastor's wife raise the kids M-F. After the radiation and chemo I had a 1 time where they pack your pelvic with radiation you r radioactive for 24hours and once the take that out it feels like there yanking your innards out. I couldn't quit throwing up, finally after several hours the throwing up stopped. St 1 point a styrofoam cup was like a brick.
Fast forward all surgeries went well they got all the cancer my son was 16 my daughter 14. I left my husband because I knew he was cheating on me and he was allowing my son to anything and what really pushed me to the top was when he threw me down to the ground and put his hands around my throat and was choking me he refused to go with me so me and my daughter moved on. We went to his graduation and his wedding but haven't talked since 2012 at his wedding which we left after the ceremony because his wife had made it clear behind my son's back, before the wedding that she did not want me at the wedding. It was hard drove 4hrs that day was in bed slot after that.
Fast forward to 2013 was moving and going further South in the state I live in was excited and nervous.We had a lot of snow so moving became harder then I thought in between snow storms and a blizzard me and my daughter packed a Uhaul first her stuff then my stuff I had started to noticed I had gained  lot of weight but didn't think much of it we moved got settled in a month later Jan 2014 I didn't feel well got  new dr. Went to the Dr and they did lots of test and found out I had bladder cancer I didnt have a job and my world came crashing down on both of us. I ended up filing for disability which went through a lawyer took a year and a half to get approved. From 2014-2019 I was living in hospitals having surgeries after surgeries because I kept having  a hole in my bladder and the urine went in my abdomen which if not caught in time u go septic exactly what happen in 2016. I woke up not know where or who I was, was airlifted to a university hospital which was 2hrs away. My daughter told me she had gotten a call to go to the hospital to ICU she doesn't drive so she found a way there by theI was on a ventilator and the induced me in a comma.
I knew everyone at the hospitals and EMS and ERS because of all the times in the hospital. In 2018 Dec I again had another hole this time my dr at the university hospital said u need to make a decision I can let u go home like we always do and go through the same procedure or u can have your bladder taken out and have a bag the rest of your life. If I did the normal routine they said more then likely  u will have another hole and possibly die because u have very little bladder to repair because of all the surgeries and your high risk patient because of all the surgeries and tissue. No matter what decision I made the dr wasn't giving me much hope. I decided to have my bladder out. It was a 10.5 hr surgery and 5 pints of blood and as of today have not been in the hospital or seen ER, or rode in a ambulance although I have many side effects from both cancers and going septic I still get to see my daughter live her life as she struggles with her disabilities. I see life way different then others. I get made fun of because of my walker but what has helped me be able to go shopping is my daughter tells me,  mom they have no idea what u been through just di what u got to do, I love to get out after 5 yrs in the hospital sometimes we just go driving to just get out. I no one day I will die but GOD said not now. Every day is a blessing and every day treat it as your last because we r not promised tomorrow
