I came back to this old farmhouse after an eviction expecting the property to finally be empty, but people were still showing up and even living on site. Once I got inside, the strange layout, disgusting conditions, rats, and bizarre discoveries had me questioning whether this house is even worth saving.

That painted sign of the devil said it all; the house is cursed! This is screaming teardown. Although you mentioned that you didn't have cell service out there, which means it's probably pretty remote so the improved value of the property would probably not justify the expense of new construction.

We have a 5 bedroom 2 bath home that's 141 years old built in 1885 on 40 acres on a river, been here 20 years and now worth well over a million dollars. This home you're in is a mess never cared for but those that were cared for sell for a lot. Just love it back then homes were built by the people who were going to live in them. so they cared.

In 1975 I purchased a house in a Simi Valley California subdivision. The owners moved everything out ( to Arkansas) before they listed the house for sale. Several weeks after close of escrow and they were not leaving. Finally I did a surprise Saturday Morning visiy at sunrise along with my two brothers, 3 12 ga pumps and 2 big ass Dobermans. We circled them while they were in sleeping bags on the living room floor. We didn’t say a word….They drove away in 5 minutes.

Yeah, I'M a little hesitant for you to go to this property alone! 😲 I don't know how you can renovate the whole thing but I really wish you could. The exterior is so charming but I would want to add possibly a wraparound porch. But then you're getting into a lot of money to do that. I'm very eager to see what you do with this one.

Turn kitchen into laundry/mud/bathroom. Relocate kitchen to the two bedroom/bathroom spot. Reconfigure stairs. Bedrooms with added bath upstairs. Or tear it all down and rebuild.
