Tried the Hierro v9 yesterday on a 15k run over rocky terrain. They felt like they were forcing me to run on the inside of my feet and didn’t give me the same sense of security as my Speedgoat 6s. Has anyone else experienced this?

Everything Colin is saying is true. I ordered a 10.5 Wide and it fit narrow and short on length (for my foot), and I had to size up. I had nine shoes in my living room which I had ordered to find the "best" i.e. most comfortable (for me), which included the TOPO Vista, HOKA Mafate 5, Saucony Peregrine 16, Asics Trabuco Max 5, Solomon Ultra Glide 4, Brooks Cascadia 19, Altra Olympus 275, La Sportiva Prodigio, and the NB Hierro V9. I also tried several different shoes on at REI, including the HOKA Speedgoat. Note: If you have a wide foot, many of the stores may not carry a wide, but you can order direct from the manufacture like I did (REI is terrible about carrying "wide" shoes). While all the shoes are good on their own merit, only one was noticeably more comfortable than the others, and it was the NB Hierro 9🏆. As a side note, the Hoka Mafate was a great shoe but had a terrible tongue, and the Altra had terrible interior stitching which made me remove it in 30 seconds. FWIW, the La Sportiva runs REALLY small and narrow, and the Topo Vista wide is not a true wide, and neither is the Hoka Speedgoat.  Good luck with your selection!

Got some of these to hike Yosemite. Super comfy and really grippy for uneven terrain. Lots of steps in Yosemite where if you make the wrong move it could lead to death literally. I tried hiking shoes but they were really heavy and felt like my feet were in a box. These worked perfect for me.

I find that getting them wide helped that narrow feeling of the true to size

Tried these on yesterday and am now intrigued. Hoka has gotten too hard and this Hierro seems to have a good combo of plush and firm in the eight places for my trail needs. Thanks for the review!

Just got these for my upcoming Rim To Rim To Rim adventure (44ish miles in the Grand Canyon). They're still in the box, but I really like what I see and am thankful for this review!

I love my Hierro v7 and want to replace them with these.  Unfortunately, the NB GB website only has this colourway in a 6.5 or 7.
I’m a UK 11.5.
They’re pretty much always out of stock in my size for everything.

Bought a pair in wide while I was in the US because they can be hard to find in Ireland, then bought a second pair before I left the US and then bought a 3rd pair later because I love them so much and wanted to make I had a pair when the first pair wears out.

Been a big Speedgoat runner for the past 5+ years. Been having a lot of issues in the toe box with the last 2 models. This shoe reminds me a lot of my old Speedgoat 4s. So far, so good.

For toe box, they even have 2E wider version now! This is what I'm considering, eventhough I don't have wide feet, cld you review on this please
