part of the reason why this movie focuses on Raphael and Leo so much is that it was planned to get 2 or 3 sequels with more of a focus on the other turtles

One of my favourite scenes in TMNT history comes from this movie. The scene where Raphael defeats Leonardo and Raph is just in absolute shock, to the point that he runs away in horror, and the scene right afterwards where Raph is just an emotional wreck and doesn't know how to convey his emotions to Splinter, so he just knocks things over while trying to hold it all in, and that line "I know why you chose him now. I know there's a reason why he's the better son, and I'm not" and Splinter follows it up by saying "But you must realize that at times you may not be my favourite student... this does not mean that you are my least favourite son", masterful writing.

Pretty much every voice actor who's portrayed the turtles has been fantastic, but I always have a bias that the TMNT cast here will always be the quintessential voices for these characters. Especially James & Nolan as Leo & Raph. Some of the best acting I've ever heard for these characters

All I’m saying bro, the bit with Donnie and the phone line was top tier

It's kind of a fun fact, but down here in Brazil the characters were voiced by the cast of 2003's TMNT, so for years I thought this movie was a direct sequel to the cartoon.

Master Splinter perfectly Summed up what makes Raph a Great character. The Dude’s whole temper stems from him being passionate and loyal to a fault. Tmnt 2007 will forever be a Goated Movie

I’m glad I’m not the only one who loves TMNT 2007

What made this movie great (besides the incredible animation that STILL holds up to this day) is the fact that it takes itself seriously. It’s not here to sell toys, or a McDonald’s meal, or get parents to take kids into the theater, it’s here to tell you a story, about nuanced characters and their complicated relationships while delivering some top notch action that fits thematically with every scene. I wish I had memories of 2007 (I was 3) because I do not understand how this masterpiece didn’t completely blow up the way spiderverse has.

I met the great Greg Baldwin twice this summer at con’s and thanked him for his contribution to the role of Splinter in this movie, as he helped finish the role after Mako passed away.

He was sure to clarify that he never wanted to call himself THE voice of Splinter in 2007, because that was Mako’s final film role and he never wants to take it away from him. He is so respectful of Mako's legacy.

It is the MOST Mirage film, I would say.
Like the WHOLE plot of this Immortal Warrior whose trying to bring back his fallen Brothers & trying to capture these loose monsters FEELS like something that would happen late in the Mirage comics.

Shame we NEVER got that sequel where Shredder came back, & De-Mutated Leo, Donnie, Ralph & Splinter, leaving Mikey to have to save the day.

It was so upsetting to see how Mikey and Donnie got sideline for majority of the film, especially knowing that the sequel would've focused on mikey remutating his brothers whilst fighting shredder

I will also add this Credits song is one of the best TMNT songs period.

11:59 Funny story, when I first watched this movie, I assumed Leo knew Raph was the Nightwatcher and so when the fight happened I was really confused.

Also, as a huge Leo fan, I actually never got a bad feeling watching this movie. Maybe it was also because as a kid I was a stickler for following rules and respecting people who I figured knew better but when Leo was trying his best to keep his team in line and explain to Raph why he was the leader, I was always on Leo's side. But hey, not everyone may feel the same about that aspect of the movie.

7:08 I pitty those who never understood this was an adult joke

Kinda funny how both voices for  Ratchet are in this movie

Crime never took a brake you did .1 line that always stuck with me

20:53 I'd like to think this 2007 animated film is an alternate reality that branched off from the original movies.

8:25 i just can't belive that man who voices Johnny Test also perfectly can voice Obi-Wan, that is just insane but respectable.

The characterization in this movie is what I consider the most canon. They just seem so much more real to me and the voice acting make it so much better as well

16:11 Aquila is the only one referred by name in film that's why you don't remember the others
The other names are in scripts or the comics that are hard to find
Same with the monster names
The one Raph fights alone is the Jersey devil
