Most weeks I dissolve more under eye filler than I inject. That sounds strange coming from someone who does injectables, so in this video I explain why the under eye area is the one spot on the face where filler goes wrong most often, and how to tell if it's happened to you.

Under the lower eyelid there's no layer of fat between the skin and the muscle. That makes it the thinnest skin on the body, and anything injected there shows through. When there's too much filler or it sits too shallow, you get the Tyndall effect: a bluish, watery look that doesn't settle on its own. I walk through a three-selfie test you can do at home to tell filler apart from your own under eye fat, why filler "migration" usually isn't migration, and why more filler is almost always the wrong fix.

If you already have under eye filler you're unhappy with, I also cover what dissolving it with hyaluronidase is actually like: how many sessions it usually takes, when ultrasound-guided dissolving is worth the extra cost, which fillers are harder to dissolve (and one that can't be), and whether dissolving will cost you your natural volume. Stay to the end for the one question to ask any injector before they touch your under eyes.
