Join me on Day 3 of my through-hike of the North Downs Way! In this episode, I leave Oxted behind and make my way across the border into Kent, heading towards the village of Otford.

It was a day of contrasts—from the "white noise" of the motorways to the absolute silence of the woodlands where I noticed a surprising lack of birdsong. The heat was a real challenge today, reaching 30°C, which meant carrying significantly more water and rethinking my pack weight.

Highlights include crossing the Kent border, spotting a massive herd of deer in the open fields, and finally reaching the official halfway point of the trail! I also gained a little "direction caterpillar" passenger along the way. After a long 25-mile day, I finally found a spot to wild camp as the sun began to drop.
