"You knew?!?" is one of the best moments in fiction. Yuri's acting is/was PERFECT. If Spider-man released in any other year, he would have won so many awards.

Gameplay-wise, I liked it. Exactly what I wanted to do with Wolverine. When you get the power to kill enemies 3 times faster, it feels so visceral and so much more fun. You can kill the bosses so quickly.

What a shame. It feels like they took from Jonthan Hickman's X-men run without the execution. Glad we got X-men 97

I beat the game just before watching this, it took me 18 hours and I enjoyed every second of it. I will say, I missed more of the classic X-men characters but for its own thing it was good. I didn’t know Essex was the name of Mr.Sinister, but once he went gray I was like yeah this guy probably gonna be Mr.Sinister. I thought the combat was fun and challenging, I played the hardest difficulty and felt that if I wasn’t smart I could easily die. I usually kept the helmet off because I agree that for the story they told it didn’t really feel like it fit to have his big goofy mask. On the kinda funny review scale I’d give this an 8/10.

I think they should've had him with several Team Xs as a predecessor to X Factor and him going thru the years with them all dying off and him having to start over again and again, slowly coming to the realization that the government has been experimenting on them and killing them off thru either direct action or neglect until he leaves Canada, accidentally steps into the Revolutionary War, gets torn to pieces by muskets and then collected, studied and recruited all over again.

It does kind of feel that there are 3 different stories happening in this game. I wonder how the game would have been if they focussed on the concept of Logan in Japan, trying to live a "normal" life but his unknown past keeps catching up to him and then really deal with the ramifications of him being the "Shinigami"; something that gets glossed over way too much in the game is just how much of a brutal murderer Logan is in this story. If they really made his character come to terms with that and focus on Logan rather than have him remember his life with Jean and then almost immediately forget it - I felt nothing at that "sacrifice".

22:38 Greg… I get that you’re a movie fan but Sabertooth and Mystique are absolutely foundational X-Men franchise characters lol That’s like being annoyed that Shocker and Rhino are in the Sinister 6 in Spiderman

It's not like Kansas was lying about Mizzou

Tbh I enjoyed the game🤷🏻‍♂️it’s a soft or even a low 7 but I can’t say I regretted playing it

I ended up really enjoying Wolverine! I for sure see why its not working for everyone but I had a ton of fun and can't wait to see where Logan goes next.

For some reason I was really hoping the story was gonna save this for me. Granted I shouldn’t had too much hope since none of the Spider-Man games really hit for me except Miles, but I thought that was because I read the comics that Insomniac drew inspiration from for Spider-Man 1&2 and I’ve seen many variations of Spider-Man in comics, games, shows, and movies since the 90s. But still it’s bummer the story isn’t hitting with most reviewers after rolling credits. Definitely waiting for a sale in the $30-$40 range.

I just got the platinum trophy for this and with the exception o a few awkward writing moments and technical glitches, I had a lot of fun with it. It's a high 7/low 8 for me. The game has a limited scope, but that kept my experiences tight and consistent through out the 30ish hours I put in. I found the combat visceral and cathartic each time an encounter was cleared. There's a couple standout missions that I feel I can load up again after some time and have a blast shredding through every now and again.

No lie, the ONLY reason why I knew Shiro was Sunfire, was because I was researching Big Hero 6 comics when the movie was first announced that it was in development

Was it just me or is Wolverine combat and boss fights way better than all the Spiderman

I know it’s probably only a small group of us but would love a quick rundown of what happens in the game before the thoughts. I don’t intend on playing this game but it was hard to glean what actually happens. Even just a 60 second rundown, or covering the big plot points. Love y’all! 🙏🏼❤️

I personally really clicked with the story, knowing Essex turns evil was more of an interesting set up to me, than a deterrent. I think they did something interesting with Phoenix too. My only real gripe was I wasn’t a huge fan of Wolverine as a character around the others, like he didn’t quite fit the rest of the cast.

A lot of the same problems that Tim and Greg are talking about are some of the exact same problems I had with Rift Apart. The team who made and wrote both of these games are just playing it too safe and just missing the mark. As Greg said.. if you make something for everybody, you make something for nobody
