Steve Perry contributed soaring vocals to Journey’s 80s rock classics like “Don't Stop Believin’” and “Any Way You Want It,” and they made him “The Voice” of a generation. However, the real journey was the backstage successes and struggles that his fans didn’t see.

Let’s be honest, the band that currently refers to itself as “Journey” is, in fact, NOT Journey. THE Journey that mesmerized and entranced millions of fans in the 80s, ceased to exist when Steve Perry walked away. There is no Journey without Steve Perry and his incredible voice.

That was nicely told. I have avoided their music for a long while: constant repetitions on radio in years gone by, and a co-worker who beat it into the ground. But i've never really given up on them. I still hear The Voice in my mind.
