Jeff Hostetler and Brock Purdy. The big 2 that I failed to mention. My bad guys.

I want so badly for Philip rivers to play amazing for the colts and lead them to a Super Bowl it would feel like something out of a movie

Where’s Jake Delhomme? He subbed in for an ineffective Rodney Peete in week 1 and led Carolina to a Super Bowl.

Randall Cunningham coming in for an injured Brad Johnson for the Vikings in 1998 and running that insane offense.

Also definitely don't forget Jeff Hostetler. Was contemplating retirement but came in at the end of the 1990 season for the Giants after Phil Simms went down, and led them to the Super Bowl! 1990s version of Nick Foles

Sad that you didn’t mention Jeff Hostetler, he nearly retired before being thrust into the starting role after Phil Simms got injured.

No Jeff Hostetler? I know they were lead by their defense but I was surprised not to see him included since he won a SB that year.

0:50 🎵 CAUSE I'M A PUNKROCKER, YES I AM 🎵

Philip Rivers is literally in a sitcom episode right now.😂

What about Davis Mills this season? Dude seriously kept the Texans season alive by winning 3 in a row.

Honorable Mention, Matt Flynn, 2013 Packers.  Rodgers goes down with an injury where he was out for a while, Seneca Wallace would start the week after the injury but got hurt himself, which led to Scott Tolzien, but Tolzien was a UDFA QB for a reason, he wasn't good.  The Packers brought back Matt Flynn and mid game vs the Vikings at home, would come in and Tie the Vikings, that Tie proved all the difference the Packers needed for the rest of the season.  Flynn would then lead a memorable come from behind win over the Cowbois, and even got a win over Atlanta as well.  It was just enough to put the Packers in position to still win the NFC North division due to MN being bad, the Lions going 7-9, and the Bears were 8-7 going into the final weekend vs GB, who were 7-7-1.  While Rodgers came back and threw that memorable TD pass to Cobb, I'm still thankful for Matt Flynn's heroics while Rodgers was recovering.

I think Bubby Brister deserves a mention. He was great in his starts for Denver in 1998. Back to back super bowl year and everything.

Imagine being one of the few people on the planet to say they beat Brady in the Super Bowl.

That 2023 Flacco run with the Browns is what got me back into football after a decade+ of not watching games and only very casually following the sport (just enough to not embarrass myself if it came up at work). I visited my non-football-fan parents (who retired to Cleveland) for Christmas, and after my mom had gone to bed, my dad and I sat there flipping channels and decided there wasn't anything worthwhile on. The last thing we landed on was the Jets@Browns game in the middle of the 2nd quarter. We sat there for a couple hours, just hanging out and watching a game neither of us really cared about in that moment. It reignited something in me, and I've been watching again ever since.

I'm surprised Brock Purdy didn't make it in the list

Shout out TJ Yates, who won the first Texans Playoff game! I was at that game and it was so loud and exciting in there you couldn't hear yourself think

Crazy how Earl Morral saved the '68 Colts & the '72 Dolphins seasons. Crazy stuff

I remember Ryan Tannehill coming in in 2019 after Marcus Mariota started 2-4 and took that team all the way to the AFC Championship game

2006 Jeff Garcia for the Eagles is another example.

Surprised you didn’t mention Doug Flutie at all. Came into Buffalo in 98 part way through the season and did well, started the next year and led the bills to the playoffs, then in one of the dumbest decisions of all time, was benched for the playoff game, which they lost because of the Music City Miracle
