YO! It's been a few months since this video dropped.. coincidentally if you're reading this, I just uploaded a follow-up video https://youtu.be/0zNtATsb5eg
Link is also in the description!

biomagus being the first master wizard, the last to still be alive in the world, and only tends to keep to herself is some hard fuckin lore holy shit

I actually worked on this game -- I made a handful of the music tracks. I only recently found out people were still playing it. I'll let the game director know he'll be thrilled.

"Game is so dead that a brand new player logging in was the biggest news in a long time."  New isekai plot just dropped.

The fact that the first 5 people to reach Master have their own statues and that one of them still plays but mysteriously keeps to themselves is so fucking cool. I love that kind of player-driven lore.

We genuinely can't thank you enough for showing the world how special Dark Ages and this community truly are. Your support means everything to us. Wishing you and your wife a beautiful, healthy baby. Sending all our love! 💖 - DA Dev Team

I love how the veteran was that "Hold on, is that a legit newbie?" and immediately started helping you out.

Edit: For everyone concerned, we posted on X (same handle). We are the actual DA Dev Team. 🙂

We've reached out to the DA community to gather insights on enhancing the experience for new players. Based on the feedback received, an update will be rolling out tomorrow, with more improvements to come. Thank you  💖– DA Team

Dark ages: let me die
Community: No we love you

Suddenly you became this protagonist who has found a lost civilization with its own culture and history.

The legendary master wizard of old who lives in seclusion and wishes not to be disturbed is CRAZY for organic player driven lore 😭

That first encounter, "not many novices these days", was like something straight out of an actual quest. Magic moment you made here.

This felt like a window to how the Internet was when I was a kid

People reviving dead games is my new favorite genre on YouTube.

Edit: To help new players, if the game gives an error on start up. Run the game as admin at least once!

I am Never from the video. We don’t get a lot of new players and I figured early on that Bindo was a YouTuber or something like that! Took him a little but to admit it :)

I’ll always love this game and have fond memories for it. The majority of the games storyline is player created. There isn’t a lot of mmorpgs out there where as a player you can directly be part of the games lore and history.

I was more of a PvPer than a role player, and the thing I miss the most are the epic 100+ PvP battles that used to last hours until one side finally claimed victory.

Thanks for taking the time to highlight our old game.

It peaked with 38k players 28 days ago and still has 2k active online damn bro did wonders

How beautiful. They see the first novice in years and they immediately light up. In a world that's been mostly forgotten, a world that some still consider their home, the new generation can bring back a sliver of hope. So the cycle continues, one more time...

Not to mention that the whole lore of the server is just so interesting! Statues for the first people to reach master?? And one of them is still alive and just aura-farms all day like a retired legend??? How sick is that!

the lore at 9 minutes man.

the Original 5 masters... only 1 remains, the wizard, she prefers to stay alone, in the quiet company of her guild mates.

This game seems way ahead of its time. The creator clearly was limited by the hardware and software. Imagine this game being made today by the same person with better tech.

This is a real life version of an isekai. Like, they have Lore. There's only 1 "ancient" still playing. I love shit like this so freaking much
