China

The episode revolves around the period of the Communist leader Mao Zedong in China (1949-1976), which included a massive economic leap followed by the largest famine in human history, the Chinese famine that killed 55 million Chinese people. Then there was the Cultural Revolution carried out by Mao Zedong from within the Communist Party to eliminate his opponents, resulting in the death of one million people. How did these events shape the China we know today politically, economically, and socially?
