Yoshihiro Taguchi / Physicist
Born in Tokyo in 1961. After serving as an assistant at Tokyo Institute of Technology, he became a professor at the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Chuo University. He received the 12th Kodansha Science Publishing Award for "The Seven Wonders of the Hourglass" (Chuko Shinsho; later retitled "The Science of the Hourglass," Kodansha Academic Bunko). In the field of bioinformatics, he was selected for five consecutive years from 2021 to 2025 as one of the "Top 2% of the World's Most Influential Researchers" by Stanford University and Elsevier. His books include Life is Made of Digital*, *Introduction to Machine Learning (both Kodansha Bluebacks), Relearning High School Physics*, *What is Intelligence? (both Kodansha Gendai Shinsho), Physics Does Not Exist (Asahi Shinsho), Between Pseudoscience and Science (Kodansha Sensho Metier), and The Power to Believe in the Invisible (KADOKAWA).

数式や元素の性質といった自然科学の「ピュアなデータ」において、AIは人間を凌駕する速度で新薬の発見やシミュレーションをこなし、神業のような成果を出せます。ルールと正解が明確だからです。しかし、宇宙や生命には人類が「未だ理解できていないデータ(未知の領域)」が無数にあり、言語化されていない領域についてAIは何も語れません。
さらに、人間社会の「混沌とした倫理や愛情」は、当の人間さえ使いこなせていない矛盾に満ちた概念です。言葉の裏にあるドロドロした本音、時代や立場で変わる正義、身体感覚といった「暗黙知」はテキストに残りません。AIはネット上の綺麗ごとから罵詈雑言までをただの確率として学習し、それっぽい平均値を出力しているだけです。
科学の万能性に目を奪われ、未熟で矛盾だらけの人間社会までAIが救ってくれると妄想するのは筋違いです。AIは神の手ではなく、人類の叡智の光と、未成熟な業の影を同時に映し出す、どこまでも不完全な鏡なのです。
人間がAIのアライメントをどうすべきか?を議論すること。
暴走するマシンには、製造者責任を課すのと同じ。
