I eat at and review Keens Steakhouse in Midtown Manhattan of New York City. I was there specifically for the restaurant’s massive King’s Cut prime rib. Keens is one of the most famous and historic steakhouses in NYC and I wanted to find out if their prime rib is one of the city’s best.

The carrots, celery, etc is an old fashioned dish, that has faded.Loved it when I was a young lad!

Gift cards in purchased in NY after December 2022 can't expire sooner than 9 years. Keens was following the law. They were probably using old certificate stock when that gift certificate was purchased.

Keens has both regular horseradish, as well as creamy horseradish. You just have to ask for them.

There are two places I go to every time I visit NYC. First is Keens for sure. Every time., usually for a long lunch at my ‘usual’ table. Easily my favorite restaurant in NYC. The second is Wollensky’s Grill, which I like better than the main S&W restaurant for its more casual vibe. I go there for my last lunch in the way to the airport whenever I can.

I think a decent establishment will honour such a gift card - I’ve had similar and without hesitation, the hotel honored it.

Can't begin to express how much I enjoy your reviews. You nail the photography, capture the atmosphere, and I can almost smell and taste the food. That prime rib looked delicious, and huge! Like a Sunday roast. Thank you so much for sharing your culinary adventures with the world!
