Historical Black Ice Poland

Normal BICE start: This is pain
China BICE start: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

I just wanna say its refreshing to see a youtuber who uploads their defeats aswell. Alot of people would have save scummed and edited out their failures. Respect.

It must be so disappointing to lose after 30 HOURS on a save

Ain’t gonna sugar coat it, I think you like pain

Imagine being chiang during ww2. Must have been insane and puts into context the many mistakes he made

8:14 According to the information I searched on Chinese websites, there is a source material from the official archives of the Republic of China (Academia Historica) that mentioned that an anti-tank artillery company and an anti-aircraft artillery company using German-made equipment were added during the De Xie Shi organizational adjustment in 1926. So there is no need to delete these two support companies. I can feel your pain of playing historical BI China. Great video!

19:55 Makes sense, what you did with the artillery. It really isn't something that meshes with the HoI4 system. Even IRL, having all the artillery directly controlled at the Army HQ level didn't mean there was one giant artillery battalion moving around as a single unit. Instead, the Army HQ would dispatch artillery companies from that battalion and assign them as-needed to specific locations or units and withdraw them when they were needed elsewhere. Which does make a certain amount of sense if you just don't have enough artillery to go around: at least that way you can get massed artillery where you really need it, instead of survivorship bias causing what artillery you had left being stuck where it wasn't necessary. That is, stuck in the hands of divisions in low-intensity sections of the front where the equipment wasn't being lost or captured by the enemy as much.

11:44, shows that weihai and tsingtao are separate defense zones, unclicks them to show it, only resassigns weihai, WELL

Oh thank fuck I've been trying this in my own time and its nice to actually see this look somewhat possible
Edit: Oh no, you fell for most of the traps in the focus tree

I've had to type this once and YouTube killed it so hopefully this saves, from experience I can give a few tips.

On the focus side you want the first 3 focuses to be internal stability, shanxi (they usually say no but have like 2-3 division so just walk around them), then strike at the communist bandits (the infra one autocompletes). You want to grind the PRC for xp as they give you the same army reform discounts as the Japan war, from here you do army reform by the time you finish the 2 focuses and can start reforming your army you will have been able to click army restructuring as it doesn't need the focus to do i usually grind this to the second of each reform then capitulate them but the second reform timer doesn't finish before the japan war. Also don't take the mobilization decision till you want to capitulate PRC or the Japan war is about to start you get like 6 and can do it whenever but the pp early game is important for German resources.

You then want to demand subjugation, Bejiing dude almost accepts which lets you actually get troops ready and maybe build defenses literally ignore everyone else can still do united front either when Japan declares war or General Man kidnapped Chiang Kai Shek but if you do it that way you cant get the second army reforms before war. After this I go for the illiteracy down to the 2nd around this time is when Japan declares war.

On the research front the first thing I research with the Mil slot is armored trains having them produced early helps a ton after this you can do whatever, for the all slots it should be construction 1 then a ww1 doctrine then construction 2 and for the other it should be the machine tools down to decentralized industry 2 then both of them onto ww1 doctrines. Can get the first industry penalty gone for free and the second once literacy focus is finished.

Also you don't need ww1 doctrines to be finished for asymmetric and it quite literally leaves your militia and irregulars better than the infantry while needing less men and equipment its cracked.

DO NOT TAKE MONETARY REFORM IT IS A TRAP it takes 200 days and  when you go to war corrupted eco goes down to 15% consumer goods and -10% construction its 100% manageable and can be further improved in the political tree

Also you need to get off export eco as quick as possible, idk what causes it if its just timed or if the AI uses the treaty too much but the 9 power treaty usually goes away before the Japan war even starts, i recommend moving down to autarky as quick as possible as it basically solves your resource and food issue and you get so many civs back and stop losing convoys.

Also in the foreign investment the German one gives you increased ww1 doctrine research speed and they cant say no while they're still in your country and doing the soviet non aggression pact once the Japanese war starts and then just clicking it in the tree bypasses the focus and you get somewhat irregular soviet equipment sent, France is just amazing defensive bonuses and equipment, Never take these options outside of Germany before the war they will almost always say no and your locked out.

Hope my own suffering helps you succeed, I'm not good at this game I just have 20 failed iron man attempts

34:24 it feels like china is made to capitulate in this mod because otherwise japan AI would have 0 impact against allies.

Great attempt! Would be amazing to see you try improving on this like you have done with Germany. I think there are plenty of lessons that could be learned from this one. Also, while I usually wouldn't recommend this, giving the US an economy buff using the BICE nerf/buff options would be in your best interest. It helps the US crank out the insane amounts of equipment they did historically, which does translate into surpluses of stuff they can give/sell to you.

Id love to see you continue this, also no apologies for losing it's a lot more real and relatable, its boring to watch someone win every time and this mod is insanely hard

Is anyone want something a bit more historical regarding china, try 8 year of resistance mod

The "Anti-tank" elements in early chinese battalions are often organic. In that it was very much "whatever we have just give it to the infantry units to counter Japanese tanks", and often times it was captured Japanese field guns and howitzers. You should've kept the AT support companies bc they did existed, just not at the recruitment and army creation level, but at the field level

6:44 that man has his hand blown out

Very good video. 👍
+1911 RoC credit score.

A valiant defeat, but with all of those debuffs its a miracle it took as long as it did.
Well played!

The mad man did it he played China

POV your a Shaanxi soldier and while your fighting you see Chinese soldiers taking away a factory to put in the middle of nowhere
