You know, when this film was released in 1982, it was once considered one of the worst horror movies ever made, but all that's changed, thanks to a slow but steady growth in video sales.

It's now considered one of the best horror movies of the '80s, thanks to critical re-evaluation, and it even spawned merchandise, including a novelization, a video game, board games, a 2010s prequel, and even "haunted house" attractions.

Wow, Kurt Russell is not only a handsome dude, he's also super articulate. He perfectly summarized the power of the Thing with total clarity and concision.

Compared to today’s horror movies, this one is a masterpiece.

Merci beaucoup pour cette séance 👍❤

bottin  looks like Kurt in the movie lol

Excellent!

9:05 Oh, this is slightly different.

At this point I should just mention all the differences in this.

1:54 : Shooting of presumably an early version of the tape scene.
3:14 : Early version of the dog autopsy with Blair telling everyone its still alive. (Also a clip of Windows from the blood bag scene for some reason)
9:05 : Slightly different Palmer line.
10:23 : Different footage of a dog being assimilated.
10:37 : Palmers blood moving (And maybe the sound too)
10:45 : This close-up of Norris.
13:49 : Garry getting assimilated.
15:36 : Garry getting dragged.
20:18 : This scene of Bennings looks slightly different.
22:01 : Different alarm sound I guess.

Well, thats everything I could find. Cool, I guess.

Kurt looks so young even for the young age of 31 without that beard. 😂 no wonder he aged well.

Wow this is cool to watch. Thank you for this film❤

Everybody was so ET infatuated at the time.

17:20 Eugene Landy?  WTF

Can you explain to me why, in about 20 years, you managed to make a beautiful comic based on John Carpenter’s The Thing—but one that a grade school kid could probably pull off in 24 hours? I mean, sure, it’s a decent comic, but let’s be honest: it’s basic and kind of poor, isn’t it? And now you’ve got access to powerful, professional AI—at least in theory—for the industry. So what is this? A hobby or a business? Are you the USA or Burundi?

never cared for  the john carpenter attitude---loved the movie itself though
