I remember this song was used in a bank commercial in the early 70's.

KAREN sang those backup vocals. She was one of a kind. When she passed away, it was very, very, sad. In my town in up- state N.Y. the record store had candle light vigals.

I was born in 1958 so yes I had a crush on the older woman . I still love her.

I was driving home from work when it came on the radio that Karen Carpenter had died.  I had to pull over to the curb and cried.

Her death was such a tragedy, Karen should still be singing hits for the world. Her voice soothes my soul.

This song started out as a commercial jingle for a bank in California. Paul Williams finished the song, and The Carpenters made it famous. This was "THE Wedding Song" of the 1970's.

The Carpenters "Merry Christmas Darling”  is still one of my favorite holiday songs.

My wife and my wedding song. Still is "our song" going into 53 years together.
