Hidden in the Chilean Andes, just outside Santiago, stands a 4,157-meter mountain that most visitors — and even many local hikers — never hear about.

This is **Cerro Capitán del Quempo**, a remote and demanding mountain offering a completely different experience from the more popular peaks around Santiago.

Steep terrain, sections of ice, a challenging summit ridge and huge Andean views make this a serious mountain adventure.

And for me, this climb had an extra meaning: *it was my second attempt at reaching the summit.*

In this video, I take you along for the entire adventure and show you what it was like to attempt this relatively unknown peak in the Chilean Andes.
