People nowadays don't know how good they have it when it comes to crafting glowstone blocks - it took 9 dust to craft a single block in Alpha... and mining glowstone only dropped 1 dust!! SO frustrating

Builds in early minecraft versions look very very cozy. I think thats because of the simplicity of minecraft back then, you didny have many options to choose what you wanna build with, and the alpha lighting also does a ton of work to make it look nostalgic

These kinda videos make me very happy that mojang is so willing to let people just... play old versions of their game. Knowing the old game is always available alongside the latest versions is very cozy :)

You don't miss old Minecraft
You miss being happy...

we're so used to do things in a hurry that when we play older versions, we discover that having a hurry to do things it's not as important as having fun. I hope that playing older versions and bringing that feeling that we had to the new generation of people who loves Minecraft becomes a trend.

Hearing they added the loom 7 years ago literally made me reevaluate my entire life, I am only 21 I should not feel as old as I do, then I realized this video is a year old.

26:55 I couldn't agree more; I hope more YouTuber's play the older versions of Minecraft and make it a new trend. I've spent 100 days in my own Alpha world and it's the most fun I've had playing in Minecraft in over a decade

29:20 The Music was way too perfect... it made a part of my childhood come back to live for a moment.

Damn, that castle made out of 5 block types looks better than my 1.19 house 😩

I feel like the extra legwork to build in older minecraft versions is what makes it so satisfying and rewarding to see to completion. I can get sucked into playing Beta or Alpha for so long despite how much less there is to do. You have a much more restricted palette of blocks and yet in some ways it's so freeing. Good vid.

This video brought me a certain happiness and nostalgia, especially at the end with the theme song. Reminds me of the first time I played Minecraft on my computer in the 2010s and later on Xbox 360.

9:24 R.I.P Ithinkitsaboutthattimeinthevideowheretheyoutubergivesthemobaname. You will be missed😢

Do you remember you could place ladder every 2 blocks instead of 1 by 1 ?

Dude, it’s crazy looking at the old Minecraft, it’s like the memories are slowly fading away from my mind 😭

Wasn’t every one obsessed with the modern house idea back then?

i miss when it was actually hard to find diamonds and it taked long to do most things you do in 10 days nowadays, minecraft has been losing its fun by each update but so are we growing up too. We all miss when builds actually felt cozy and we were just little kids with our little goofy laughs, but now we grew up and in my opinion minecraft is loosing its fun each day.The simplicity, bugs and all the things we would be complaining about nowadays just felt so fun back then. I remember playing minecraft split screen with my cousin and friends and even though the thing that feel so stupid nowadays just felt so incredible then, i remember having a dirt castle in my realm that i just admired ever single day, but if i take a look at it now it doesnt even look like an castle, but the true is that on our little creative minds it was way more fun and cooler then it is today, but the thruth is that the game isnt losing its fun,its just us that growed up.

First time watching one of your videos -- really enjoyed this! It's fun seeing the update progressions.

Seeing retro Minecraft really brings me back the good old days…

There ARE actually sounds, as well as skins, in all of these versions! All you need is to use the betacraft proxy java argument when launching the game, or use the betacraft launcher. It fixes A LOT of problems that have arisen in the 13 years since these versions released. If you ever were interested in a part two, I'd be happy to talk and help make producing the series easier (and look better ;P). Thanks for the video!

all this coming from an old school minecraft nerd with too much free time :D

I miss old Minecraft so much.
