Just like PS2 HP2, there are tons of hardcoded stuff for car slots that prevents us from restoring the NFS Edition for both BMWs. This hurts more than it should xd

@ClumsyCardboard is the one that narrated the skyline GT-R, props to him!!!

This is the best thing ever for High Stakes PSX.

3:53 first appearance of the Skyline R34 in the series lmaooo

Someone become a low level computer engineer initially aiming at just adding cars to PS1 versions. Holy hell. This is dedication :D

i almost can smell the 90s pc parts, when i see the loading screen

The guy talking sounds like he'll tell me lore about any car if I press O

Edit: I just saw the rest of the video and, you won't believe this...

NFS HS on a 20" CRT back in the day looked great.

The Taikenban is literally 体験版 which mean trial version ofc

1999 WILL NEVER DIE!

Great mod, great video

lowkey we need a NFS Nostalgia version, that has the cars and tracks from NFS 1-4, all in one game

This is very interesting and thank you for doing this. I've played the complete edition multiple times and its very nostalgic. Even though I started with the ms-dos version of NFS 94 I still find that out of the 5 classic NFS, the fourth has the most complete NFS experience. Its the reason why I'm gonna make an open source freeware racing game. It inspires me a lot this game.

I remember this being the first NFS game I saw in high resolution. I had just gotten a VooDoo3 card in my PC and was able to run the PC version at 1024x768 at pretty high frames for the time. The first NFS I played was the og Road & Track Presents: The Need For Speed on my Panasonic 3D0, when it was exclusive to the system lol. It was the first racing game that felt REAL. The cars had understeer and you had to slow down instead of just using reflexes like everything else that came before. The traffic and police, hell the cars flying through the air when they crashed! It sure was something back then...

Hank Hill turned out to be a good narrator, who would've thought )))

High Stakes is my favourite NFS by a long shot since playing from the very first NFS. It's amazing to see this level of work put into the game. Bravo 🎉👏

This is really interesting i like the difference you explained

11:38 I thought at first the nissan voice description was rip from pc version. Turns out it was you, kudos for you man 👍

This was a great documentary! Complete Edition is definitiely high ranked in my backlog.

Without a doubt, @hprcycl, you have done an impressive and impeccable job... I am still amazed to this day by everything you have achieved...

If one day you manage to fix the missing "minutiae", such as the colors of the McLaren F1 GTR, as well as those of the Titan with the performance improvements applied... and possibly, adding the "SV" stickers to the Lamborghini Diablo... it will be the icing on the cake.

Greetings and congratulations again for the work done. Without a doubt it is a declaration of unconditional love for the classic Need For Speed...
