The best one for not leaving any holes! 😊 I just wish you covered a bit more on doing decreases because not all patterns talk about it. I took that part from another video and combined it turned out the best of any try I had ever had. If anyone else is wondering about the decreases: knit 2 together at the beginning of the row and slip slip knit through the back loop for the last 2 stiches :)

I'm using this to adapt a pattern that has me casting off 15 stitches for the thumb and casting back on 15 stitches to continue the pattern I have ripped it back several times and can't get it to look nice,  if I tried this would I still knit 15 with the waste yarn,  because it seems like that would give 30 stitches for the thumb so would I knit 8 onto waste yarn giving me 16 for the thumb which I can cast one off later
