I think your idea with a different lifts and putting them closer to the same lift on the exhaust and or same lifts on the intake was a brilliant idea,, my dad built engines and I tell you I was always at all as a 14 year old son helping him clean parts
I usually like to look at the slipper foot and see where it is starting. if it is Heeling the valve this will cause more wear than if it is in the center of the valve stroke. Heeling or chaffing the valve is the real problem with geometry Not just being in the center of the stroke. watch the heel and the toe of the rocker. make sure the rocker is not of the right or left edge. All the other stuff to me is not really that important. most of the guide wear if all that stuff is correct is on the other side of the valve from heat. guides will still wear out. These are air cooled.
I heard you say 76mm crank, did you get a 4140 or 4340 crank and where did you get it? Picking the crank for my next engine and it looks like a 76 only comes in 4140.
