Families of people still missing after Nepal's devastating floods gathered in Kathmandu on Monday, demanding answers and clearer information from authorities. Holding photographs and posters of their loved ones, relatives said they were exhausted by the lack of updates and urged the government to intensify rescue and search operations. Rina Amatya Shrestha said her family had received no news about her brother and questioned where the results of the ongoing rescue effort were.

The floods and mudslides, triggered by a glacier collapse near Nepal's border with China on August 26, have killed at least 1,380 people, while more than 5,500 remain missing. Nepal observed a national day of mourning as rescue teams continued searching affected areas, with several survivors reportedly pulled from the debris in recent days.
