Certain weapons and items in METAL GEAR SOLID 4 make achieving the Big Boss Emblem MUCH easier. Since one playthrough is required before you can access The Boss Extreme (the game's hardest difficulty) your first playthrough can be used to prepare for your Big Boss Emblem run.

10 Smoke Grenades (emotion smokes if possible)

If you are on a second play through, if you have a chaff grenade equipped in the escape with rat patrol 1. Johnny (akiba) will drop them for you also.

Soon as the game dropped i dove straight into big boss hard to acclimatise to the difficulty, got everything i needed run 1 and cracked the big boss emblem on run 2. Hardest parts FOR SURE are the motorcycle chase because of the awkward hitboxes on the jeep turret gunners, and the crying wolf fight because of all the frogs milling about (the amount of times i ended up getting spotted by a rogue frog i didn't notice right next to me x_x).
MGS4 top 1 game of all time and its not close honestly

Drebin face mask also makes the rebels passive. I didn't even know you can get the disguise again. I went through that whole underground section and everyone was chill. Drebin was right when he said he was neither enemy or friend lol

Hi, I found my way here thanks to Agustinitita; she recommended your videos for getting the Big Boss rank on Extreme difficulty. I was able to beat the beginning of Act 5 on Extreme thanks to your video, and now I'm preparing to go for the Big Boss rank <3

I unfortunately won't be able to play this at launch, but man I can't wait to get the platinum in this again! MGS4 is my favorite in the franchise and I didn't mind playing it 8+ times ten years ago

I’ve played this game at least 10 times all the way through and never knew about the confinement facility in Act 2. Learning new things about these games all the time, can’t wait for MC Vol 2!

I absolutely adore this game. Favorite MGS in terms of pure enjoyment and absurdity. Glad its getting new recognition for the incredible amount of replayability it has. Love the sandbox, love the treasure trove of Easter eggs and new things to discover!

I literally spent like 10 hours total farming guns from rebels and PMC’s in that one battle outside the building you meet Meryl for the first time so I could get the Tanegashima early. The rebels who come out with rpgs kind of help speed it up a bit because they’re worth 6000, but you only get 1, maybe 2 each respawn. Worth it. Makes getting money for the rest of the game sooooo easy.
