In this video, I’m tackling what I think is one of the worst combinations in plumbing – designer radiators with corner radiator valves!

We’re back on a 2nd fix plumbing job, and I’ll take you through the complete installation step by step, showing you how to hang a designer radiator, how to measure and position it correctly, and how to fit corner radiator valves for a clean professional finish.

Designer radiators can look brilliant once they’re installed, but getting the pipework and valves lined up properly can be a challenge – especially when you’re using corner valves and there’s very little room for error.

nice video Luke on how to fit a designer radiator especially with the corner valves. real world plumbing. and the video you showed how difficult it can be even for an experienced pro like your self ! got to say it did look nice so was worth the effort.❤💯👍

Nice job Luke, little or no wiggle room there! I bought one of those style rads for the bathroom for dual use. A 900w heating element goes through the length where the valve goes. In the summer you turn the valves off and it's used for drying the towels when the heating is off. In the autumn when the heating is back on reopen valves and bleed if necessary. Can be controlled manually or via Wi-Fi and times set via the app.

I usually come a little wider on first fix then Telescopic rad tails on corner valve screwfix sell them

You'd think someone would come with a union tail fitting for these. I've been asking zone valve manufacturers the same question for ages now too.

Retired plumber what's the point in corner rad valves might as well fit standard rad valves not worth the hassle

Don’t some radiator brackets have height adjustment 5-8mm to deal with this? At least my trade radiator did 😎

Only fitted union style ones. Merchants handed me some of those ages ago. I just said fuck that, why are you selling these.... Feel for you mate ✌️

I charge 4hrs to install a designer rad and I’ll keep the whole day clear. I also tell the client to source the rad two weeks before and check for damage keeping me in copy to advise on sizing. If that doesn’t put them off at least I’m getting paid and plenty of time on the job
