Long before Michael Jackson became the King of Pop, he was a child practicing under the hum of the steel mills in Gary, Indiana. But the story of his hometown—and the state of Indiana itself—is far more complicated, gritty, and brutal than you’ve been told.

This documentary takes an unvarnished, brutally honest look at the history of Indiana. We explore its violent frontier origins, the shocking 1920s era where a secret society completely took over the state capital, and the dramatic rise and fall of the industrial powerhouse that raised The Jackson 5.

Watch until the end to see how the "Crossroads of America" evolved from a frontier battlefield into a modern economic and cultural battleground.
