"Fraudwatch" is the best term for this arc. They went from  "my body is a weapon" to "Yo this mf got a real weapon tho, sht ain't fair" QUICK. It was sending me.

Retsu is now an isekai protagonist

Baki is a show where a samurai from 500 years ago can mog every modern military

16:23 The narator of Baki be like:

The reason i love the Musashi arc is that, like with most other arcs in baki, its more about the philosophy of each combatant. The death row inmates all used tricks and faught as unfair as possible, since as long as you win, the means dont matter. for Pickle, fighting was the prelude for eating, and he only eats prey that attacks him first and earns his respect through that. Musashi is someone who lived in an era where fights to the death were far more comonplace, or the large scale battles he survived. Kill or be killed is something that has become normal for him, or rather it was normal for warriors/soldiers of that era.
And when Retsu proposes a fight to the death, to Musashi thats just a casual monday evening. The mental state of Musashi is just different.

The "No, I am not Human" music is a nice touch

The real life Musashi won about 90% of his deathmatches by pissing off his opponent as much as possible.
His most famous (and final) duel against his most worthy opponent had him taunt the man after showing up hours late with a wooden sword (carved from an oar on the boatride over to the duel venue) that was longer than his opponent's.
Bro is "Most Disrespectful Moments IRL" thumbnail material.

Only in Baki can you weaponize Schizophrenia.

34:33 CJ kinda got this part wrong, Yujiro didn't dodge the swing, he just let Musashi hit and it only barely cut him. In the manga its more apparent cause Musashi internally thinks "Its over in less than .000...????" He deadass was confused as to why he didn't cut through Yujiro, he's just that guy

Musashi: gets a rock in his eye and has no reaction

Also Musashi: gets hit in the eyes with hair and gets momentarily stunned

Baki logic ladies and gentlemen

the Musashi ark was all about responding to Bakis " im the best im board" with " about that"; love that the writers kept how much of a troll Musashi was lol.
the most disrespectfull in anime vs the most disrespectfull IRL, damn i never thought id see the day lmao.

17:00 obviously Mesashi is able to align the atoms of the sword with the atoms of there face perfectly.

Great, now there are 3 people in the “deadliest thing on earth” category. Suddenly Yujiro’s title isn’t as exclusive as he thought it was which obviously pisses him off.

24:21 Replace this with a horizontal strike and  this is what I imagine must have happened to Crocodile from One Piece. It’s a perfectly straight cut that runs pretty much from one cheek to the other. It had to have gone into his skull.

RIP best girl Retsu

Musashi arc really threw off the scaling of the Baki universe ngl. Like as much as I like Vagabond and Musashi, the idea of him arriving after Prehistoric Killing Machine arc and Father/Son arc where Yujiro/Baki were casually throwing eachother through buildings like superheroes and mog everyone, including one-shotting Baki is just way too silly even by Baki standards, as well as entire "his aura is so strong I cut myself by my own fear" thing.
And I understand having some insane technique but mogging them in raw physical strength? Brother what?

But it's also funny how the very first serious fight Baki had at 13 was a death fight with an ancient mutated Gorilla, which he won, and after countless chapters he ends up losing to his own schizophrenia💀

God I can't wait for part 2. gonna be so fire!
I also hope we get to see someone like Yuuichirou Hanma or even the actual first ancestor to the hanma bloodline (im thinking about the guy on the mural that some archeologists found) get resurrected next.

Now I want to see a triple threat between yujiro musashi and pickle, who walks out alive? Also based off these three characters it kind of feels like the Creator bachi is trying to tell us something about modern Men, pickle probably could have killed yujiro if he was trying, and basically every character in the modern era is portrayed as substantially weaker than people from the past

10:37 Is nobody gonna mention how Musashi was moving like Mr. Frog here?

yesss
