Hola! Tell us about your challenges when moving abroad or any questions you may have. Saludos y fuerte abrazo!❤

These are the videos that keep me hyping and coming back your channel every week to see your next video. You two are the most real about your move to Spain, you aren’t trying to sell me stuff, hype all the tourist stuff, or sweep under the rug the REALNESS of moving to Spain and the struggles you have gone through.  Your videos are what make me constantly research and read Valencia/Spain newsletters that discuss the current politics, real estate issues, etc., so that when we come there for our first trip in November for 2 weeks we wont just be those annoying Guiri that others like to talk about! lol … We want to be educated, immerse ourselves in local life for 2 weeks, and come back with an idea as to whether or not we really think we could move there.  I can’t express enough to others how important your videos are.  THANK YOU!!!!

Be sure you utilize the Foreign Tax Credit for taxes you pay in Spain which are credited against your US taxes to avoid double taxation and paying into Spanish social security means you don't pay US self employment tax with the proper certificate. (US tax pro, living in Spain...)

You are creating a Beautiful family with a great foundation!!! Keep going strong and stay positive!! God blessed you ❤🙏🏻more and more!!

One of the most informative videos I’ve seen for people interested in moving!

Hi! Great video! You both come across as being normal people. This is refreshing as so many of these videos paint everything as being perfect. Of course, we know it is not. Everywhere has its own set of problems. Anyway, keep up the good work. You are both naturals.😊

Very, very inspiring!! Thanks so much!!

One of the things I really appreciate your channel is the balanced approach. Many channels have that underlying theme of the grass being greener elsewhere and a disdain of the their home country.

I’ve been to Spain and loved it, but also realized that my experience was that of a tourist and not someone going through the daily grind. I could see myself living there as someone that has been learning Spanish for a long time and has a love for the language, but I also love the US. Both can be true.

Come from UK. And have been here 45 yrs... Still miss England but my family is here now.

Thanks for making this video. We plan on also moving to Spain and your videos are very helpful. Especially this video. We still have a few years before moving but we are always looking for informative videos. Gracias from Tejas!!

Hola, saludos!

I love your videos and the honest way in which you approach different topics. Kudis. There is one item I feel is missing from your list in order to consider whether one has made a mistake or not, and the answer to the following question may influence your attitudes a great deal. That is, if you have children the big question is "what is best for them?" I think that if you feel that moving was positive for them then every annoyance and negative aspect of the experience becomes less important in our minds and it eases adaptation

Saludos from Florida, you would make it anywhere🤣.We have been thinking of Spain for so many years but taxes is a killer when you live on a fixed income. Have you considered Almeria? We love it and visit there as much as we can. Easygoing, lovely people and a beautiful city. Valencia is lovely too but they are different.( if you have not yet visited Almeria, highly recommend). Love you guys, best wishes on your journey, blessings always. Ho, great beach and wonderful surrounding(cabo de gata😏).etc.

Yes, taxation is different - but one can very easily complete a Test Modelo 100 on the Hacienda site to figure out the best combination of income for an individual or a couple. There are more considerations for an autonomo and arguably the taxes are punishing compared to the advantaged setup in the U.S.

Hola amigos!!!

i would like to know if you are of latin heritage , do you think it makes it easier to move to spain ? what is your heritage ?

The thing that scares me most about the move to Spain my wife and I are planning is that classes and grammar are not my thing. Also, I'm introverted, so socializing is difficult for me. However, I did learn German by forcing myself to immerse myself in the German language while I was traveling through Germany, and while my knowledge of German grammar is still questionable, I can always understand what's being said and make myself understood in German. So, while I can improve my Spanish vocabulary here in the US by reading via LingQ and other apps, I'm hoping that when we're in Spain, as long as I force myself to interact with Spanish speakers at the market or when navigating the streets, things will improve fast.
