The older Mercedes Benz models were so beautiful.

Love these old cars. Back when a Mercedes was top of the line, and everyone knew if you drove one, you had money.

Love the old Mercs they had such a gorgeous body.

This is a Bosch K-Jetronic, a Fuel Injection System. This disk controls the amount of air flowing into the motor. There is a potentiometer on the side that reports the opening to the engine control unit. Check if both Fuel Pumps are working, check fuel Filter near the pumps. If this works, then check ignition, Spark Plugs. And do yourself a favor and replace the heat-conducting paste under the ignition controller, which is mounted with three screws on the right-hand side. This will make it last longer.

This car came out amazing for how long it sat out. Its a true statement on how much care Mercedes built cars back in the day. Quality and refinement weren't just nice to have items, they were traits of the brand. This car was built like a tank and it shows. Great video guys, and as far as performance or luxury? Well 20 years ago all I cared about was how fast my car could go. After 40 my backside now prefers a bit more luxury on my daily commute, although a powerful engine is still nice to have for those impromptu street light races when you want to feel young again lol.

After more than 40 years still a very impressive car!

Guys, this was a famous car back in 82 back in Belgium and europe,,stil is classy looking car today, great transformation,😊

As a teen of the 80's I remember these cars well. In my area, only doctors drove these. I wasn't a huge fan back in the day but I would LOVE to have one just like this now. I can appreciate the design better now. Gorgeous car.

The 380 SEL (3.8 liter V8) was 2 levels down on the big Mercedes sedans. The 450SEL (4.5 liter V8) was top dog. Back in the 80's l worked for a shop thst used to import models that weren't sold in the U.S. like the 500SEL which was truly a great luxury sedan. With the euro spec bumpers, headlights and emissions (no catalytic converters). They performed much better. The same for the SL coupes.

In many 80s movies especially in NY, Miami or LA Beverly Hills scenes this car was always there! Statement of wealth and good business. Great one guys!

Send that vehicle to Woods and Barclay. John Woods is the Mercedes guru of vintages such as these

It is not a sensor but the diagnostic taking of Mercedes factory (the "Telediagnosis - Stecker"). On the W126 (including the 380 SE of 1982), there is a round connector under the hood - protected by a clipped cap - which allows MB workshops to connect their tool to read the engine/injection defect codes.

I like the big luxury cars. I like the muscle cars. I like watching all of your videos. I bought the WD interior cleaner and finally used it yesterday at 1:1 thinking it wouldn’t be able to get two year’s worth of dried on dog drool off my Cherokee’s back doors. OMG! It worked perfectly! Cleaned it all off with ease and no funky residue or smell. I was so excited that I ended up cleaning the whole interior. Thanks!!

Good job WD with the music choice and a little bit of ASMR, I watch your videos before going to bed. It’s relaxing watching others work.

The Mercedes-Benz 380 SEL has a maximum torque of 295 Nm (218 lb-ft) when equipped with its stock gasoline engine and carburettor. The engine is a 3839cc V8 that produces 145 kw (197 hp).

@andrewgarrison4014 1 year ago

The paint job has had a serious justice done. Interior is in such good shape. If that thing gets running that would be a car show piece. Minor blemishes and all. Torn seat. I'd roll in that car.

The manufacturing quality of this Mercedes 380 SEL, 1982 vintage, makes this very thorough cleaning a true rebirth of this German icon which in Europe had an engine developing 218 horsepower !!

The timing chain “issue” affected the early R107 SL, not the W126

Fun fact: all Mercedes leather seats, all models, if the leather was not treated regularly they would split exactly at the front of the driver’s seat in the centre

On the other hand, Mercedes MB Tex, in effect vinyl, is indestructible, looks brand new even after 40 years and is cool in the summer warm in the winter, my car has it, it’s an amazing material
