Thanks for posting this, I eventually bought a little bag in a tourist store which I can hang across my body with all the pencils in old glasses cases, stored in colour groups, this suits me as I often draw standing up. I really try to spend my money on the materials themselves, rather than any extras, there is always something around the house that’s adaptable. I also use old plastic lids and pots for water. Enjoy

I don’t know why putting the sketchbook inside a sketch bag is even a thing.  I like a pencil case and a sketchbook in a lightweight and simple canvas tote that has inside pockets.  It holds my pencil case, whichever sketchbook I fancy at the moment, plus my wallet and phone in an inside pocket with a zipper.  I can even put a tripod chair in it, which is useful about 20% of the time.  

I do love Art Toolkit palettes.  And I do like the Art Toolkit pouch idea, probably would go for the smaller one, as again, I wouldn’t be putting the sketchbook in it.

Love seeing other people’s kits Emma. I have the Lahit one for my super minimal kit, but I predominantly use a roll I designed and made myself - I couldn’t justify the price for the Sendak, so made my own version from a waxed cotton and use it almost daily. 😆 I like the look of the art toolkit pouch though, that looks like a great grab and go option! 😍

Primark Home is doing a travel “charge bag” for device cables. Opens like a book has pockets. Fits small sketch book   Loads of pockets.. £3.50 💪

I like my $2 plastic pencil case. It is the size of a cigar box. I just drop it in my tote and go. It holds a lot of supplies and they are easy to access as I paint.

I have the Lihit lab smart fit and used it a lot but yes, it’s not long. I also have the Art Toolkit pouch and also used it while backpacking. Downside is it cannot carry a lot of pencils or tombows either. I think I will choose a separate pencil pouch for those.

The art journals fit in the Sendak in the back pocket and you fold more than roll. I can't tell if you have the regular or mini Sendak. There is also a nutshell, the smallest size. That said, I love the Art Toolkits and have both of their sizes.

It's funny cause I ALMOST have two of yours. I have the Lihit one but just a smidge taller so yet an average paint brush will fit in it  (and pencils would fit fine). It has a single divider in the middle was well. Very compact, lightweight and about $12.00 in the US. Then I have a roll or wrap like your canvas one only mine - while canvas - was made in Spain (Etsy) and treated with resin instead of wax. Not sure what the advantages are but it looks a bit more modern and sleek because it doesn't have all the cool wrinkles. I might have preferred wax but this one is ever so slightly taller and wider than the larger version of yours so takes normal paintbrushes well and has storage on both ends rather than just one end (though only one pocket on the back/outside). Both of these fit the larger Folio paint palette from Art Toolkit too which is nice (I have two stacked - one for paint and the other for extra mixing wells). The small Lihit one holds two shot glass sized collapsible silicone cups and the larger one holds the normal larger sized collapsible ones along with a variety of pens or pencils then a couple of sketchbooks plus the zippered pocked where you can stick in all the smaller doo dads (sharpener, q-tips, tape, extra ink cartridges etc). Like others here, it's fun to see how people use their storage bags and what they have in them - very inspiring! Thanks!

I’ve used the fabric from conference cases to make my own art tool kit pouches, and adapted them a bit. And then I learned to make waxed canvas using heavy linen and made my own Sendak style rolls. Budget versions!

I have 2 of those. I refuse to buy the expensive Sendak. It is definitely beautiful, sturdy, love the zipper but the price is way too much for my budget. The art tool kit case is also wonderful, I wish it had a zippered pocket for extra lead and an eraser. I have the small zippered case that opens, but like you, I found it  is too short for the supplies I like to bring with me. I am actually using a make-up bag the size of a pencil case. It opens up at the top and zips down on both sides about half way. You can then fold down one flap. In the flap is a small zippered pocket, which holds the lead and eraser. The case stands up  on it's own since it has a flat bottom. I fit the basic things you have in the art tool kit case, including a tin with broken derwent inktense blocks, an art toolkit med palette, and the same sketchbook you have. There are loops for the pens, pencils and waterbrushes and is tall enough for tombow markers. It is lightweight. I got it on amazon for $20 US dollars. This is what I carry in my backpack

Nice video! Im currently using an electronics carry case for the art travel kit. It's working well. Got it at Target for less than 20.

I have that same little paint pallet. 😊 I prefer the little (Molle) tactical pouches. ( or even a pencil pouch). Inexpensive, lay flatter, yet durable ... minimalistic. I do like seeing what others use for their minimalist travel kits. That pocket case looks like a winner. Thanks for the information. 👍

I have 2 of the large Sendak rolls.
One for my color pencil things in slate grey and one for my watercolors in moss green.
They are a joy to use.
They fit a sketch book in very easily.
And a tin of Neocolor 2s fits in the back pocket.
I also have the large and small art tool kits and love those as well.
Hard to decide which one I love more.

I have had my eye on the  Lihit lab smart fit case for a long time, but honestly, I use a cheap canvas tote, a canvas pouch, canvas brush roll, and a cloth pen roll for my sketching tools.  All my sketchbooks fit into the canvas tote with them.   When I go out with my plein air palette box, I have an art comber to haul it and the tripod.  I simply toss the tote into the art comber.   I enjoyed seeing your comparison though.  It gives me more ideas for future painting trips. :)

I do like everything Art Tool Kit.  I’m acquainted with the owner as she lives here in Washington state (USA).  She carries Rosemary & Co brushes so maybe that’s why Rosemary has the kits.  I have the A5 size kit. I use the larger Folio palette.

You are like me, I have multiple art kits but I guess my favourite this summer has been the Art Toolkit Field case - I love it. Great comparison video, thanks for the info. 🙏💜
