I loved Diana SO much. I was asleep when my husband woke me to say she'd been in a horrible crash. I remember crying like a baby. My grandmother (a night owl) called to let me know what had happened about ten minutes after my husband woke me.
We visited Althorp in 2006 where we met her brother. He was very kind and down-to-earth and spent about 20 minutes talking with us (we were last). I was very impressed that he spent time with us he didn't have to.

My mother loved Diana, she was english. Mum passed away suddenly from a fall month before Diana. And I remember watching those boys on TV, and thinking they're no different than my 5 younger brothers and I on that moment. I was 9. I have strange memory of my mother being with me at the time but she had already passed.

I watched the funeral from the US and remember being incredibly sad, especially when they showed the flowers with ‘Mummy’ written on the card. Those boys lost their biggest champion and we all lost a beacon of light. It’s hard to believe that 29 years has passed 💔.

I was a teenager when she passed. I woke up very early in the morning here in the States to watch her funeral broadcast live from London. Everything from the procession was so striking and heartbreaking. My heart went out to William & Harry especially, as I knew her passing would be crushing. Elton trying so hard to keep his composure through the song also stood out. I bought American newspapers covering her funeral and still have them. It was so earth shattering when it happened. I've always thought that Diana set the standard for what royals SHOULD do with their position: Use it to aid those in need, bring awareness where it's necessary, encouraging their people, and helping to make positive change. She did so much good and earned her unofficial title of People's Princess. Diana's passing was a bigger deal than Queen Elizabeth's passing!

I went to Althorp myself last month and have to agree that the situation of Diana’s burial site on the island is extraordinarily beautiful and contemplative. It was certainly a meaningful moment for me. I feel strongly that Diana’s remains should stay where they are in perpetuity. The Spencer family has lived on that site for many centuries and I see no reason to think this will change anytime soon. Besides which, it is important that her sons have privacy when they and their families visit the burial site. And privacy is what they are assured of under the current arrangements.

There are events that happen in life in which you remember exactly where and how you heard the news. Diana's passing was one of those events for me. I cried for her and especially for her boys, whom she would never have wanted to leave. It was also a stark reminder of the frailty of life. I hope that Diana and her remains will rest in eternal peace. She didn't have much peace in this life. She deserves it in Heaven.

My now wife but then girlfriend and two friends were watching the coverage (from the US) right after the crash occurred and we all thought it was fake. None of us believed she could be gone. Our friend’s dad came into the room and confirmed that it was in fact true. We were high school kids at the time but I can still remember it like it was yesterday. RIP Princess Diana. The world is a colder and darker place without you here.

She was the best. Among other things, she spoke up for AIDS patients. My uncle Leo Guevara was one of them. Her words made a massive difference. I’ll always remember. 💐

Very thoughtful video. Princess Di’s hold on the public imagination around the world always was amazing. I particularly realized this a few days after her death. I live in the Maryland suburbs of Washington,DC, about 1/4 mile from the DC line and about 2.5 miles from the British Embassy. And I pass by the embassy whenever I drive into DC. I was driving into town to my office on the Saturday after her death. As I passed the Embassy there was a line of people several blocks long at least waiting patiently to get into the embassy to sign a condolence register for the princess. And it went on all day. I was just amazed. She deserves to rest in peace undisturbed.
