Gerard Way had a pretty severe issue with drugs and alcohol and originally got sober in 2004. He relapsed in 2011 and became officially sober again around 2013. The footage of him when he relapsed was pretty sad.

The band got together after being traumatized by 9/11. Gerard Way was there in person, working in New York across from the towers and this album is partly inspired by that trauma

Paramore and My Chemical Romance, making this millennial happy

Here's a few fun facts about this album!  When Gerard recorded his vocals for Early Sunsets....he was suffering from a terrible dental abscess so some of the wailing was actually due to true physical pain.  The emotion on the recording was overwhelming for Ray and a bunch of the sound engineers, they had to break for cigarettes (and crying) 🖤 The guys pretty much each wrote all their own parts.  Gerard Way on vocals, Ray Toro on lead guitar, Frank Iero on rhythm guitar, Mikey Way on bass and Matt Pellesier on drums.  Matt was only with the band for a couple of years 🩶 The band swore off playing Drowning Lessons live many, many years ago because something would always go wrong and set off a spiral of of unfortunate events 🧡
Thank you for listening to this.  It really is a special album.  It almost feels supernatural the way it all came together, as they had only been a band for a few weeks when this was recorded.  Please keep going with them!

By far one of my favorite MCR albums, it's a shame there's a lack of reaction videos for it. Thank you for listening !!!!!!

My fav album from them, raw, bizarre and unhinged

Someone already said that but if u wanna learn some more about the band, they have a documentary called Life on The Murder Scene and as far as I know, you can find it on youtube, it's quite old but worth checking out :D

Well there's also video they made while recording bullets https://youtu.be/wfXhb0eKj-8?is=rxRkiH3jmJCUuRDl

This album and Three Cheers are the only MCR albums I could REALLY get into.
I Brought You My Bullets is also the closest thing to a real phc (“emo”) album they have.
They had a great sound from the beginning, Gerard’s range in his vocals is honestly insane, hearing him do the black metal screams on that one Ibaraki track blew my mind lol.

Gerard Way is Joe Rogan's cousin. Joe rogan has a woman in his ear telling him what to say and think. So let's not listen to anything Gerard says.

no one cares what the lyrics say or what you think the lyrics say. School taught you to follow along with words but thats not natural. Music isnt a story. Not everything is a TV show to follow with a fake story. If you watch the story, you miss the music. Your reactions are BS.

OMG YESSSS
