Alcohol during pregnancy – Jenny's daughter Sophie has FAS (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome) as a result. Alcohol consumption during pregnancy can lead to disabilities in the child later in life, resulting in FAS. Sophie has reduced intelligence and develops more slowly than her peers. Jenny had already seen many doctors, but none could find a cause. It was only at the Charité hospital that pediatrician Professor Dr. Hans-Ludwig Spohr discovered what was wrong with the girl. Sophie suffers from FAS, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, a disability caused by her mother's alcohol consumption during pregnancy.
