Don't worry about anyone saying you're wasting your time. They are the people that stare at their phone for 11 hours a day. Meanwhile, your out in nature, learning new things, also meating up with people interested in the same thing.
The same people who say panning for fun is a waste of time probably spend hours on social media daily. Thanks for continuing to share your prospecting experiences! I enjoy tuning in to see what you find
I've got a pal who goes fishing without hook or bait - He just likes to sit by the lake and relax, de-stress, and generally chill with a flask of tea and a box of sandwiches. He doesn't care about getting fish, it's just a few hours of freeing his mind.
If you're having fun, It's not wasted time. If your having fun, and also earning a bit of money, then even better. And if you can have fun, while making money, while being able to film it and put it on youtube, That's the best.
You're super fun to watch. Calm explanations, genuine excitement for the process, Educational, and you don't come off as arrogant, and make people think that your the best, or only your equipment or techniques work.
Being in nature on a beautiful day like that is food for the soul, you're getting fresh air, sun, exercise.. and goooold! Especially now that you hired a gold sniffer
My body finally recovered enough for me to go out and start this wonderful hobby. I've been out to the creek twice for about 4 hours the first day and 4 the next just this last weekend. Was really hard to see the gold where we were, but we think we found color. We grabbed some classified materials to bring home also. Even if we find not one thing, the way my body and mind feel is amazing. So peaceful out in nature HOW CAN THIS be a waste of time. Thank you for your videos.
VEVOR Sluice: These sluices are offered for sale to Utah Gold Prospectors Club members and others on prospecting websites. 1. They are cheaper and catch more gold than almost all the other cheaper smaller plastic sluices. 2. Some of our prospecting sites have primarily over half the gold smaller than 1/50”. 3. The finest gold goes down through the miners moss and lodges into the carpet on top of the aluminum! 4. When the cleanup is done, there is a yellow ‘mud’ underneath the carpet. That is extremely fine gold. 5. We prefer to sluice into a 5 gallon bucket set inside a large rectangular cement mixing tub with a sump pump and a few drops of dish detergent (works better than JetDry). 6. That way the extremely fine flour gold gets caught. 7. To find areas of heavier flour gold concentrations, we use Manticore metal detectors and listen for louder base sounds (the constant hum). 8. Those areas get checked in the sluice. The best areas are screened to -1/4” and a load of filled buckets are taken home. 9. GPS coordinates keep track of the best production areas on our gold claims. 10. I asked VEVOR to send me free sluices so I could make a quality video; they didn’t provide any sluicing kits, so we purchase 10 sluices at a time for under $50. 11. Utah Gold Prospectors Club member check out my videos and they say they are a good help to double or greater their gold recovery. 12. You are loosing all the microfine flour gold by not using a recirculating pump in a closed loop of treated water. 13. Gold Hog Dream mats cost more and they make many patterns for different situations, but all catch gold better than your or the original fine ribbing. 14. The Best scenario is to put it where the fine mat is on the origional setup. 15. The VEVOR sluice with a short length of DreamMat and 4 different catch areas traps gold better than both types of rubber mats (Original and yours). 16. Wood paint stirring sticks can be bolted along the inside and create great rigidity. 17. Keep a medium weight rock on top to prevent the sluice from being washed away !¡! Thank You !¡! Another great video lucas. And yes almost every sluice will catch heavier material its all a matter of how you set it up and use it. Just look at what's available from the Miller table ( smooth and no rifles) to the big trommel setups 2 and 3 inch rifles.
Hey on the "wasting time" comments; I can relate. I have heard this about my music project, my photography, my star timelapse projects, my gold panning, my rock tumbling....literally everything I have found to bring me joy. Perhaps people have so deeply bought into the need to trade all time for money that they are bothered by people who don't hold that as the primary objective. Keep wasting that time away my friend. It clearly holds more value to you spent in this way <3
