Update: Jan 1, 2026 and the game is on the steam page with no announcement date and no gameplay footage or actual game. This is scammyland.

Having a character say “I’m cooked” when it’s set in the 1970s is crazy

Kandyland is so aggravating cause the team clearly has some skill when it comes to animating/3d modeling and im sure they could make something REALLY cool... but instead they would rather make a crappy NFT fnaf clone 😔

WHY EVEN BOTHER SETTING IT IN THE 70s IF NOTHING ABOUT IT IS 70s 😭😭😭

What pisses me off is that it HAS potential. The concept of a Willy Wonka style FNAF game sounds freaking amazing. And all we get is a 5 minute pilot. I am so so tempted to make my own Kandyland inspired project to spite them.

If a Kandyland  game still comes out i'd still play just out of morbid curiosity, lol.

Hey now, it wasn’t just an NFT scam… it was also endlessly thirst baiting

The first kid to ever say im cooked in the 70s?

That "I'm cooked" Line completely broke the believability out of the whole animation.

This is so petty, but I keep seeing that carousel-- that's not how carousels work. Why are the horses pointing in different directions? Why is it rotating in the wrong direction for the direction of the horse? I really like carousels and COME ON, THEY'VE BEEN BASICALLY UNCHANGED FOR LIKE TWO HUNDRED YEARS.

it's so sad to see what golden lane turned into, their original FNAF series was actually well animated and had an interesting storyline, but greed compelled them to not continue it...

It might've been better and less uncanny if they went a more Security Breach Gregory esque design for the humans.

You cant even call this a "franchise" when there's literally nothing to consider officially done.

Maybe human voice actors would've read the script and corrected the mistakes in the dialogue as they recorded the lines
__
nvm they just paid $5 for the recordings

I bet if they'd not have advertised this so much with brainrot for kids, and not have Suzy designed to bait young little boys and weird adult men, this wouldn't be half as well-known. The animation is the only thing that saves it, but even that has flaws. It's like they blew their budget on all the lighting effects and movement.

I don’t think they’re ever gonna release a game at this point. The shorts and teasers will continue on until the end of time. Rip to anyone who is a fan of the circus baby clone 😢

Also goodness gracious me the animation killed me. The polar express comparison is very accurate

There's 3 things that need to be fixed in the kandyland series.
1. Half of the voice acting needs better direction.
2. Dialog HEAVILY needs to be worked on.
3. STOP SELLING NFTS

I kinda hate how despite the fact that Suzy has a functioning mouth that we see open IN the pilot, she doesn't open and close it while talking. Like, come on man, really?

Also yeah, you can't fault the VA for Martin for taking a role, but man does her voice not fit the character at all. Then there's the "What I'm gonna do?" line which is just... oof. And not to shit on the audio quality of someone from Fiverr, but the audio IS quite echoey, though in the end that could have at least somewhat been fixed by Goldenlane during the editing.

Overall, the pilot didn't seem bad, but considering the long wait, it's pretty underwhelming. I'm interested to see where things go from here, though who knows how long it'll be until then.

January 2025: We are safe now from Kandyland and the Thirst traps surrounding it.
February 2025: OH GOD DAMMIT! THEY'RE BACK!!!

Edit: seeing theft king in the comments of the pilot makes me scared
