Turning Nemesis into a glorified cutscene and then having him spend the second half of the game as a dog was definitely a choice. I don't know what they were thinking with that one

Jill acts and looks more like Alice from those weird RE movies

OG RE3 is my favorite RE title and one of my most favorite games ever. Can't imagine how often I played through it.
When I finished the remake I just laughed. RE2 remake dlc

The thing that stuck with me when I played it day one, and when I picked it up again last year, was that Nemesis felt like the old King Kong ride at Universal Studios, and Raccoon City felt like the Universal backlot.  The main antagonist basically functioned as interactive cutscenes, and the environment always felt infuriatingly linear.  The hospital is really the only part of the game that feels like a Resident Evil game, and even it is undermined by a really boring timed sequence.

There's a RE3 Extended Edition (WIP) mod that removes some of the blockages and gives you longer, more connected streets, and it already feels so much better. The city should've been way bigger, with more buildings and multiple floors to explore.

This experience sums up my thoughts on the game. When I played RE2 remake and saw the blown out wall I got giddy. "This must be where Nemesis chases Jill!". Then I played RE3

A series that has so many interesting weapons giving you the Basic blocky L that is the Glock 19 is a damn crime.

What almost no one mention. RE3R have horrendous dialogue. It's the millennial writing and MCU dialogue. Quips and jokes and no one taking this doomsday seriously. The OG theme was "Panic" The dead walk the streets. Every one Panicked. The trained special forces. The RPD cops etc. In the remake its all a joke.  The way Carlos keep calling her "super cop" Its the writers saying we are better then is silly super cop story.

I cant believe that I am only NOW hearing someone bring up the low frame rate enemies. I noticed that with minutes of starting the game. It has been years and I watch EVERY english video essay on RE anything.

RE3 remake is TRASH!!! Another instance of the game industry holding your hand the whole time and not letting players have agency, make choices, and feel ACTUAL fear/stress of using your supplies and being hunted.

You did make me smile when you started to chuckle at your own script near the start, " hes obviously evil, i mean look at him" 😂

the moment where Nemesis gets downed by a fvkn hand grenade at all difficulties really removes his "scary" factor. I remember me jumping everytime nemesis appears OUT OF NOWHERE in the OG games, his jumpscare was priceless and really made him scary, even a hand grenade wont down him that quick.

8:18 I really don’t mind the yellow guidance but it’s just really egregious because to me it feels like the developers are dangling their keys in front of me instead of trusting the player’s intelligence on picking up subtle environment changes. My favorite implementation of it is in RE9’s lab section where the boxes fit in the environment perfectly. I wish that these hints would be used more like an actual hint rather than a big arrow sign pointing me in the right direction

Here's the problem with Nemesis in RE3R When you fight him in the OG game you have a handgun and shotgun the first time you encounter him, and he's a bullet sponge. BUT you take him down, you can get the gun parts for the crit handgun and western shotgun you reload like the terminator, first aid 3 piece kit and the assault rifle/infinite ammo. He's worth it take it down.

In the REMAKE "Oh no... it's nemesis" drop the handgrenade and he goes down like a sack of potatoes. And what does he drop... AMMO FOR a handgun the first time. He's pointless to fight. The grenade drops him instantly and he drops nothing useful. They got rid of the shotgun and the handgun the main reason we killed him in the first place. And he drops for 30 seconds before chasing us again. He's not scary. He's a glorified loot pinata that drops trash... that's all he is.

He's terrifying in the original because he's not easy to take down. And he chases you until you escape him or take him down. And when you want to take him down, you have to weigh the options. Do you waste precious resources and take on the beast for the reward, or run like a bitch.

At least in the OG he kills a star member, Brad. Brad goes down from a random zombie in the remake. The change... WTF are you thinking. He's supposed to be the best of the best, a survivor and he throws a sign at a zombie and then holds the door so multiple zombies can munch on him while you escape. Who's this guy? He's not a Stars member.

RE3OG is one of the unique entries in the franchise, its the best of the original trilogy, it has a great plot, side characters, a proper villain, a pacing of your choosing, replayability, mercenaries and the vibe of the city alone is enough to haunt you, i know because i was a litle child back in 1999, and i played this game more than 100 times in this 30+ years.

RE3RE is a Beta testing prototype selled as a finished product, nothing more nothing less, and they acused the OG of being a cashgrab

After I beaten re3 remake on inferno for the first time I was pretty much done with the game after that, I uninstalled it immediately. Every so often I think about reinstalling the game and playing it again but immediately feel drained remembering all the scripted cutscenes especially the very beginning one with Jill and her apartment that you can't skip and that basically lasts 15 minutes until you can actually play the game, and immediately lose interest all over again

:30 Unsolved Mysteries theme jump scare

Fraud would imply it was trying in the first place. This simply wore the skin of 3 and that is as hard as it tried. 3 deserves all the hate it gets. If not more. And the whole thing can be summarized in the first 10 mins of the game:

-Nemesis breaks through a solid wall, and not 5 seconds later is stopped by a wooden door and a bookshelf
-Nemesis has Jill dead to rights so many god damn times it stopped being believable that the only explanation was plot armour, ergo, no stakes at all, specially when he kills Tyrell outright later on out of nowhere in a hallway they could easily see down and you know it should have been his actual target
-Instead of using her samurai edge, you know, the STARS weapon every member has a custom version of, we get a generic glock anyone could be using after the S.edge is dropped after using it for 3 seconds in a cutscene
-Nemesis isn't taken seriously at all, by anyone, not even capcom. Dude catches a rocket, then takes the next one to the face even though he isn't even looking at the first one as it is fired at him from at a stones throw away. He turns around and is then, like a mook, face tanking the second he knows is coming as Carlos didn't ditch it after firing.

Am I being harsh? Yep. Cause if I they didn't want me to compare it to the original, it'd have been it's own thing. But the title is Resident Evil 3, not Resident Evil insert caption here. And so, it shall be judged as such. And to say it was lacking is being far too kind. 2 I have gripes with, 3 I vehemently despise.

Don't forget they pushed the online game, which was tragically fun in its own right, instead of fixing the game.

As milque toast of a game RE3 is and even though it's a butchered remake that's more akin to a shitty theme park ride that only has about 8hrs of playtime, my biggest problem that pisses me off is the character assaination of Jill.

From the pointlessly added facefk section to the fact that Carlos is literally more of a Hero MC during several moments than Jill is through this game. Someone at
Capcom just hated Jill no reason.

She's scared and starled easily and cries and screams like she's not the woman who just months prior survived against Yawn, Black Tiger, and the Hunters.

The only thing that makes sense in my head is Re3:Nemesis is the timeline where Jill saved Chris from the Lab prison in Re1, and Re3make is the timeline where Chris saved Jill.
