Only once did this game load 😂

This is very advanced for a Commodore game! Multiple weapons and powerups, move and shoot in what looks like eight directions, detailed graphics, cool music, and you can crawl along the ground. Cool!

"Made by Special FX in Liverpool in 1990, this was my favourite C64 game of all time. It was a side-scrolling, two-player, co-op arcade conversion, although we were restricted to a single player on the C64. This was another two-man development, working alongside Robbie Tinman. For this one, I actually stopped saving my artwork to audio cassettes and upgraded to a 5.25-inch floppy disk drive. The game included several different locations, so there was more variety in the graphics I was producing, and what other game has a huge floating head spitting out small brains as the end boss?"

Aaahhh...just listened to the first few notes and immediately got the chills...precious memories 🤗

in this game, developers were able to squeeze out the maximum opportunities C64!

amazing game. Back then I didn't even know the arcade, it was one of those C64 games I bought "just because the box and the screens were cool".
I spent a summer with it

My first ever personal video game. been looking for this

This was my favourite game, hands down on my C64. Amazing soundtrack and really challenging. I even remember if you typed SIAMESE (IIR) when putting in your name, you got infinite lifes

Having just come off of watching a playthrough of the Amiga version- the SID chip music provided by this is significantly better. Aside from offering more themes, they understood that a game like this needs some bass to get the blood pumping.

Thx for the replay. I still remember being dissappointed about the last stage on C64, but to be fair: the last stage wasn`t that great on arcade either.

i see "snake"

I used to play this when I was a kid on my Commodore 64. But i swear there were not so many levels. The one i had stopped at 14:00 on your vid.

I enjoyed the Sega one too!

I remember getting this in a pack of action games bundled with the C64 we got. Good times! Weird thing with this game though, I have a distinct memory of a different tune playing on level 2, I can literally listen to it in my head, and the tune is present if you look up the soundtrack (track 4), but whenever I've played it on emulators or seen it on videos its the same as the level 3 music.  Did a bugged version get circulated around or something?

What is this secret level at the end? I've never seen it!

Also, didn't you already cover this version of this game in 2014?

The collision detection is turned off in order to record the walkthrough, right? :-)

This C64 is not bad but the Sega Mega Drive is the best home port
