Agree on the music...I talk to and stroke the plants as well and talk to the lizards scampering through the foliage...awesome choice on the figs btw, I have 2 trees in my yard and they are both fruiting, love their leaves. Wish I could grow lavender, but Florida is just too hot, it's a real chore figuring out what will grow well here, but I've learned a lot in 2 years, lots of native plant nurseries and plants for permiculture food growing, Seminole pumpkins and sweet potatoes are on the menu, but so much is edible and fun to discover...you always put me in the mood to go back out for another hour of the scorching heat...then back in to the air conditioning...have a great weekend as well...!

This has inspired me to something wonderful with the side of my house.

All you do is so inspiring, I thought that I had too many pots until I found your channel, so now I’m adding even more!!  Thank you, your courtyard and garden are absolutely beautiful 💞

Totally agree about height … in addition to an Olive tree in a pot I’ve just added four 12 ft pencil cypresses in pots against my house wall in my small space and they work beautifully to give some scale to the planting and balance the 9ft high pergola at the other end of my green courtyard style garden 🙂

Beautiful, you are an artist. "into the garden I go to free my mind and ease my soul".

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and strategies as you plant.

The obelisks add height and interest to the courtyard. Love the planters and the plants.  Looks fab chip 🌳🌳🌳🍀🍀🌾🌾🌾🐈‍⬛

Chip, you are my inspiration,  everything you do is so beautiful.

It's 9.25 am in Trinidad 🇹🇹.  And, I'm having a meditation while watching you.. 🧘🏾‍♀️. My plants are in for quite a wetting today..lol🫠😆🙃

Sitting with my tea & toast, I watched this early morning inspiration for my newly designed pebble and container garden. After preparing the plot, and sorting out the surface area, I am frozen into inactivity, I have been dithering about choosing plants. I'm calling it The Japanese Garden, but every day it gets a new title.  I'm starting with a lovely acer,. Not just because it's Japanese, but because I love them. But I think having a theme is getting in the way as it's discounting plants I absolutely love, and also limiting the number of plants I can have. So  I'm throwing the theme ( and all titles) out the window. Thank you, Chip, for this much-needed shot in the arm. I think I'm off to buy a fig.

Right. I'll be storming out tomorrow to purchase baby lavender for my lonely potted fig. ❤ from South Africa 🇿🇦

I’ve been going back and watching your older vlogs. I find what you’ve done with your courtyard so inspirational!  I can’t wait to try some things in my sad shade garden next spring.

so happy to see your video today, I looked for it!

Chris... that 🎶 🎵 💯🧘🏾‍♀️🌟🌝

I love it! Fig leaves are truly beautiful! 🌱🌱🌱😊

I always love watching your videos.

Thanks Chip! What a beautiful courtyard you are creating! I love it! And the cat is the icing on the cake… we had a pure black cat a few years ago. We called her PussPuss. She’s gone now… and we miss her. 😎🇨🇦

love love love your design.  I am an obelisk girl! and have several in my yard.  Now Chip, please tell us where do you overwinter the smaller and pretty boxwoods on pots.  Cheers

Fig! Inspired idea ❤
If the lavender doesn't work out , you can always switch ...
The contrast of leaf texture and colour is great.
Wish my garden looked like that.😊
Will start talking nicely to the plants...and give them a good shower to music.
Thanks Chip

Perfect music to accompany the washing off of your beloved plants!
Everything looks wonderful.
