If I was ever a co angler I would feel like a guest in your boat, same as in someone’s house.

This is why my co angler is my best friend! My dog. He never complains or crosses lines.

I was speaking to a guy once who used to be a pro bass angler.  I said something like, “Wow! That had to be so much fun!”.  He said, “Not really.  Fishing just became a job and it wasn’t fun anymore”.

Every time I was a backseat in someone else’s boat, I was there to learn and have fun.

Fishing is RUINED by competitions.  😢

This reminds me of playing golf with someone who's having a bad day, and they get even more frustrated every time you birdie a hole. It's one thing to be frustrated when you're not catching fish, or playing bad golf, but to get mad at the other guy because he is is something entirely different.....and juvenile.

I won 3 club tournaments out of the back of someone's boat. Never won one out of my boat... love your channel!

Videos like this remind me of listening to my late father tell stories. Really enjoying it.

I would never have a bad attitude towards a pro like yourself. You went above and beyond trying to accommodate this guy

Lmfao. “Maybe his wife left him”. Such a sincerely delivered burn.

I woulda said “hey, did you hear that last year, a guy disappeared out here? Never did find him.” And then slowly cruised away.

I had the opportunity to fish a couple of the early Bassmaster Top 100 Pro-Am tournaments and I met, and had a chance to fish with some of the standout anglers of that era.
Denny Brauer, Guy Eaker, Rick Clunn, Stacy King, Tommy Martin....thank you guys for living up to your status as true professionals.

But one guy went way further that he had to to accommodate me, the amateur in the back of HIS boat. That man was mister Ken Cook.
He told me fist thing that morning, "Look, I have a couple of areas I want to hit first thing, but if you have anywhere you'd like to fish, just tell me and we'll go to your spots too."
He didn't have to do that, but that's the kind of man he was.
I feel like I truly made a friend that day.
My wife and I actually had supper with Ken, Tammy and their twin boys that night.
He was a true sportsman and a true professional in every sense of the word.
Rest in Peace Ken. Miss ya buddy.

I love solitary fishing. The beauty of nature and seeing your Lures in action regardless of landing fish. Wish I could learn how to better my fishing skills from a guy like you. Great YouTube channel you have.

you did well you have more patience then me😅

Bad partners in the boat are the worst. I had a partner for a team trail who wouldn't prefish with me and then when he didn't catch anything kept telling me we need to be doing what his buddy( whom we had beaten every tournament was doing.  Smh.

Once I was fishing in a bass tournament for tagged bass. I caught a 20-inch largemouth that didn't have a tag on it. A beautiful fish and I got mad, not because it didn't have a tag on it, but because I felt robbed from an amount of happiness that that bass would have normally pleased me very much. No more bass fishing contests for me!!!!!

You tell a good story.  I don't fish but I was a pastry chef and competitions are not for the insecure.

Absolutely you are so transparent and enjoy your videos they are super educational and help get us thinking outside the box..

Great story. Entertaining!

Sounds just like a friend that I will not go fishing again with ever again
