Yarbo Modular Yard Robot - A lawn mower the size of a tank

I put the Yarbo yard robot through its paces. I test the software, mowing, routing, towing, patrolling, obstacle avoidance, and a whole lot more. It's a tank. Probably.

Great in depth video. Would be awesome to see some sort of slasher attachment so it can handle thicker grass. With that tow rating I think it could definatley handle a more robust slasher deck. When it gets opened up to home assistant there would be some really cool automations you could put together if they expose all the different sensors and features.

I'm enjoying the frequency of the video releases. Please keep it up Lars.

The pathway function looks like it is meant so that you can have multiple yards on one automation. So it can drive from one area to another before it mows.

I live on the first floor, contractors look after the garden and public areas, so I am now investigating robot vacuum cleaners that also scrub floors. Thank you for that. I'm attracted by the idea of a snow blower that does not require a Unimog.🤣

Awesome video, robot mowers are so cool!

I heard the Robot Wars "3, 2, 1 Activate" in my head when you showed the activate button 🤣
Did not expect the patrol feature, you could combine it with the bad guy alert on the cameras and chase them away 😉

Top quality YouTube as always. 👍

Thanks Lars, another great video. Living in the country which is by nature extremely quiet, the high pitched sound has been my biggest concern in considering the Yarbo. I will wait for the next gen as this is a show stopper.

Sorry to hear about the bushfire 😔
Yarbo using off the shelf products, like that "xbox" controller, is great for repairability and easy replacement.
Perhaps Yarbo will bring out a line trimming module? For those longer grass areas like that incline test area you did.
Whoops you mentioned an edge trimmer attachment near the end of the video. Might be the thing eh?

In the news today... Lars was seen using a black ethernet cable outside !!! :)

I might get one for the snow blower function. I have a 100 yard driveway and will soon be sixty. I plow with an ATV but it would be nice to just let this machine tackle it and use half the space in the garage.

Yeah, the combination of maintenance knife discs on such a heavy, tracked robot is a bit of an odd combo since it's mostly suited for larger, rougher, fields than an actual lawn.

And I would maybe call it a tool carrier

find and old stump to try and pull out with it

@h2low404 1 year ago

For the price install should be included

Tractor concept applied to consumer autonomous mowers, cool. If they can get edging to work and of course the price down maybe compete with mower managed services?
