Tim Ryan spent millions of dollars on drugs, smuggled heroin into Cook County Jail, spent seven years in prison, and then faced the single most devastating loss available — the death of his son — before rebuilding his life into a mission dedicated to helping others survive the addiction that nearly consumed everything he had. In this episode of Locked In with Ian Bick, he shares what spending millions on cocaine and heroin actually looked like from the inside, what the double life of addiction and outward success actually involved, what seven years in prison actually required of him, what losing his son actually produced in a person already fighting to stay alive, and what the Cop and the Convict program and the recovery advocacy work that followed actually mean to someone who came that close to losing everything permanently.
