Welcome to Adventures with Sonik and Friends!
This week Ray and I took on a very dirty Brownhills canal.
From the moment we arrived, it was obvious this place needed some serious attention. The water was stinky and weedy, with rubbish and scrap everywhere we looked.
So we got the magnets out and started cleaning.
And boy, did this canal have some stories to tell! We pulled out loads of the usual rubbish, but mixed in amongst the scrap were some properly weird finds that we weren't expecting to see.
Another canal, another cleanup, another pile of rubbish removed from the water.
And yes... it really was disgusting!

You really never know what will happen when you head out magnet fishing!
Join Sonik and the team as we explore canals, rivers, lakes and waterways, pulling rubbish, scrap and unexpected discoveries from the environment. From huge clean-ups and unusual finds to restoring interesting items and the occasional bit of complete chaos, every adventure is different.
Our mission is simple: remove as much rubbish and dangerous scrap as we can, dispose of it responsibly, and leave our waterways cleaner and safer for people and wildlife.
We don't just go looking for treasure. We're looking for the stuff that shouldn't be there.
The support from viewers, comments, shares, donations and channel memberships helps us keep doing what we do, but the biggest reward is seeing wildlife return to areas we've cleaned and knowing we've made a difference.
If you enjoy magnet fishing, environmental clean-ups, treasure hunting, unusual discoveries, restoration, outdoor adventures and plenty of laughs along the way, you're in the right place.
