Dying villages of the Urals... Among the impenetrable forests and swamps of the Urals, among abandoned and lost villages where the true Russian hinterland still survives, stretches Russia's longest narrow-gauge railway – the Alapaevsk Narrow-Gauge Railway. It runs where there are no regular roads and where you can't reach by car – only along the rails that run deep into the taiga. I'll set off on a homemade handcar along this railway and travel 200 km along it, the road of life. For many villages, this railway is the only artery connecting them to the outside world. It's a true lifeline, without which survival here is simply impossible. We'll meet the last inhabitants of these places. They are the only light in this ghostly land, true hermits on the edge of civilization! Every day there is titanic labor and a struggle for survival. We spent 10 days among abandoned villages, completely cut off from civilization, without electricity or communication. To immerse ourselves in an unforgettable world where man is merely a guest, and the taiga dictates the rules. This is Sergey Volkov, and welcome to the world of the unknown and forgotten.
