I like your reviews  . . I got the Baader zoom on your recommendation. I have a bino viewer with 26mm plossl's and the views of Moon and planets are as you say, greatly enhanced . Also the Orion Nebula is fantastic ! It actually has depth as well as width thereby making it 3D. I'm buying a second zoom for the bino set up. Happy days!

awesome comparison! You hit the main points that i was looking for.

Thinking of getting a Binoviewer for my Aperatura ad8 for planetary. Thanks for the helpful video.

Great post

Great video as usual Vlad! I had some experience with the Williams optics binoviewer with a 10" GSO dob (not collapsible). I could not reach reach focus with the supplied 1.2x barlow nosepiece only with my 2x barlow. This made the magnification perfect for planetary and it was awesome on planetary. The problem I had was with the moon, it was 50/50 on the moon....when I could merge the images together the view was incredible.....the other 50% of the time I couldnt merge the views at all. Now I realize what you said about compression rings must be the case.
Strange that on Jupiter and Saturn I did not have this issue at all.

Thank you for your review on binoviewers. From the information you presented I was able to make an informed decision. I purchased Binotron 27. The main reason for this is that it worked with Dobsonian focuser without any modification. It was also important to me to see DSO, this binoviewers only magnifying 21mm eyepiece by 1.3x instead of 2x for the other binoviewers to obtain focus . I was also impressed that it only required only one set of eyepieces, as it switches between 1.3x, 2x and 3x. As you stated the binoviewer has brought optical astronomy to the next level. I find it hard to go back viewing through a single eyepiece. Thanks

Really appreciate your honesty.  I'm getting really tired of the smug a-holes who are insistent that you absolutely MUST spends thousands upon thousands of dollars to get any view worth seeing.  I don't doubt that the more expensive equipment and glass are objectively better, but I've been constantly amazed at how good the more affordable equipment is these days, and I think that's a good thing; it definitely opens up the hobby to way more people.

@AVTAstro, if I remember correctly you said when reviewing the svbony cheap sv135 7-21 zoom it could be suited for binoview as is so narrow. Did you tried the bino with that zoom or with the baader zoom?

The 2" Elite bino is the best for deep sky. It is heavy do to using 2" eyepieces, but the views are amazing.

Just started binoviewing and I can't believe anybody is looking through a single eyepiece! If you can resolve the image, you have to try

Hi Vlad, I have the Maxbright II for my primary set-up, and am looking for a cheaper ($200) binoviewer for my travel set-up. I would ideally like the Orion BAK-4, but it's difficult to get here in the UK.
As the Orion binoviewer is likely from one of the Chinese/Taiwanese manufacurers, do you know whether the Celestron, SkyWatcher, Omegon, William Optics, OVL binoviewers are the same product. You specifically recommended the Orion BAK-4 binoviewer, so that's the one I'd prefer, but I'm happy with the exact same product, in all but name, from a different supplier. Many thanks...

Live stacking done by the brain... :)

Losmandy G11 still rocks!

It would be nice to do a proper comparison when you've controlled for other visual limiting barriers...  So, excellent seeing and a non-aperture clipped view.  I also wonder if the excess color you got switching from one bino to the other, is just a function of atmospheric dispersion as Jupiter changed in alt.

I’ve bit the bullet and bought myself a Baader Maxbright II binoviewer. I also bought a 1.7x GPC. Do you have any recommendations for eyepieces? Thanks

I appreciate the effort making the comparison, but surprized to NOT mention that the $1200 Elite Bino is 2"!  I would never compare my 2" Tele Vue eyepiece with ANY alternate brand 1.25 inch eyepiece!   Was great to hear the $300 had a good review....I am thinking of the $300 WIlliams  over the Orion.

Vlad, enjoyed the bino video.  I have an Obsession 20" Classic and was wondering if you knew if the Orion bino or any other bino would reach focus with the Dob.

Good day young fella this is Jerry speaking. I really enjoy your videos. I’m getting a vinyl view and I was just wondering what pieces millimeters do you use? What would you recommend for eyepieces?

Great vid, thanks.  Ive got a Denk, and have only used Russ's 21mm eps on it.  How wide, and how narrow, have you gone with good results?

Hey Vlad, great video as usual, i have a nexstar 8se and i wonder if i can fit a bino viewer in the same way as my mirrorless canon, directly into the back….?
