Thanks for your comment, yes using a battery as a backup would be the 100% correct install, I personally didn’t want to spend any more money on the job as I didn’t have a battery lying around at home.
Hi. This set-up is so very similar to mine, which I posted a YouTube video about and has been in -situ for 3 years. I use red diesel too and draw cooler air from inside the bedroom and hot air into my lounge. It is so economical. As we don’t have a gas main where we live our only other options for heating are oil, which we have, or electricity, which as you can imagine is a big no no. If I was to suggest anything that may help a little, wrap a couple of layers of silvered bubble wrap, the kind you can buy on a roll, around both your hot air inlet and outlet pipes, both inside the box and outside. I found that it made a difference, just as you would lag an immersion heater it stops heat loss, even though your pipes are short. I’ve taken my heater to bits for cleaning / servicing and am replacing some parts now, rather than have issues in the middle of winter. Thanks for posting the video. 👍🏼
