Using Saniderm OR any other second skin is a great method for the aftercare & healing of a new tattoo. BUT WHAT ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO DO AFRER THE 24H MARK!? Do you continue to LEAVE IT ON for the whole week and have it build up with fluid? OR do you change it after 24 hours, clean the new tattoo area and then reapply a new sheet of second skin? I have full color sleeves and a full color chest tattoo. I always use Saniderm. It’s worked perfectly for me. I leave it on for 4 days (regardless if there is some fluid build up) max. One thing I noticed is that y’all are crazy. 😂 Never, ever remove Saniderm unless you’re in the shower with running water. Otherwise, it can be painful to remove while dry. Do yourselves a favor and remove it while in the shower.

I kept mine on for 10 days straight. My tattoo healed perfectly. Saniderm protected my tattoo while sleeping. Rolling around in bed & scratching it unconsciously is what causes tattoos to become infected.

Bodies are different, everyone reacts different. When it smells, feels weird or you're just having a bed feeling. It's save to remove after 24/48 hours. It's not the inked that has been protected, it's the wound it created. It needs to heal properly. Many (including myself) are scared that you'll scrub away the tattoo if cleaning to soon. Which you can ruin a little if done in properly but just stay cool, clean with mild and alcohol free soap, keep moist for the coming weeks and avoid anything that could irritate your skin/wound and can cause infections. Everyone heals different, some might even have it fixed after a week while it could take weeks if not month or so for others.

Yep. What she said is literally on the box in the instructions. I tell my clients to take it off after 24 hrs, then, IF they have not reacted, they can apply a second piece if wanted but honestly... the first 24 hrs is the most important, the second piece doesn't make much of a difference in my experience.

I love this, I have it on right now and realized I didn’t know when to take it off and I was preparing to dive through a thousand videos to kinda figure out a time frame, but this was so fast and reliable! ❤

"listen to logic" has always been my thought. After using it on chest and arm pieces ive gotten... it starts to get ragged and start to come off on its own after 1.5 - 2 days. at that point I naturally remove it because its already coming off. at the end of the second day I take it off, clean it, and then put a new sheet on for another two days and then do the same. 2 days at a time until it stops leaking ink and isn't chaffing. 6-7 days max. Listen to the wrap.

Honestly, I usually take it off the next day. I also don’t put on another sheet, I just let it heal and air out. The color seems to hold better if I do it that way. I have A LOT of tattoos and am also working towards a body suit.

i've had both saniderm and normal foil and i definitly prefer saniderm. just makes the healing process a little easier / simpler (and somewhat safer) in my opinion.
edit: when i did use saniderm i just left it on for the first 3 days straight and had absolutely 0 fluid building up inside of it

Everybodys different, but i just got a half sleeve forearm done, very high end, female artist, put the Saniderm on it, was my first time using it, i typically did the wash and wrap 2 times a day for 3 days, then no wrap 4th day, always worked perfectly, but she said its supposed to be on your tatt 4 to 6 days, 4 being minimum, today is the 6th day, and thats from wrapping directly after the tattoo, and i barely have any ink spillage, or plasma or blood at all, so i suppose i will take it off with running warm water in the shower like one guy said, it still seems like its on pretty good! Its the way to go, i work a very physical labor job, and did that job for 3 days with it and it stood firm! No washing, no worrying about the wrap having air leaks. It really didnt even seem like i had a tattoo much, earlier tattoos they all bled alot, plasma, several days, so, not sure if its just this stuff is that damn good, but ill do it again!

I personally prefer a more traditional healing process but Saniderm is definitely helpful when I’ve had it put on

My tattoo artist told me to leave mine on for 4 days without taking it off😮 on day 2 and it’s got fluid going on and smells bad 😂

This quick vid was actually really informative. Knowing the information Alicia shares with us, it helps so much cos we then have the knowledge to make decisions. Doing what you're told is easy, if your aftercare/heal goes perfectly. But if not, with this info, I'm so much better placed to make the decisions that are gonna aid my ink rather than hinder it. With all the money, pain and time spent on these pieces of art, why not treat them like they're the Mona Lisa. Thank you so much Alicia & @JustINKD
